So here I am in my Typhoon diving in on an enemy field to pork their fuel, I'm doing 425mph. Naturally, there is an LA7 flying towards me from my 1 oc, at about 1.5k below me. No sweat I think. I let the rockets go, and at around 440mph I pull the nose into a 2000fpm climb and kick in wep. I look behind me and the LA7 has pulled a 180 and come in on my 6 at 1.6d. Next thing I know he is closeing on me. How the hell does he do a climbing 180, from lower alt, and gain on me at over 400mph? He had to be breaking the sound barrier prior to his 180.

The F4U-C is perked at 8 perks, yet this plane can't get out of it own way. The LA7 is free of perk cost to unbalance gameplay with this kind of uber performance. A sucky situation in my book.

No, that won't work. He was about 1.5k lower than me, I pulled out of my dive at about his alt.

Then again, maybe he saw me start my dive from 14k some 5 miles away, dove from 10k with wep on, then flew level to the merg, did a 15g turn in total black out perfectly timed to be eyes open dead on my vector.

My point is, any plane that can flat turn almost 180 degrees, and still keep pace, and catch a plane zooming at 450mph on wep is arena unbalancing if left free of perk cost.

Either perk the damn thing, or let us hang bombs on the 262 fer crips sake.

La7 is notorious for retaining energy in high-G turns.

just mean to say myself and i'm sure a few others have been deceived by percieved energy states, and never underestimate the acceleration of some planes in the game.

I've found that depending on your approach, jabo's are very easy to intercept even with a disadvantage in alt.

of course this all depends on skill level? perhaps he looked at dar and realized you where the only con in the area and planned accordingly(ya i feel nasty equating la7 and skill too)

anyways i've found the plane set balances out fairly well if you fly smart, wich i don't most of the time.

Seemed he didn't start his turn until he was at my 3 oc. When he followed my zoom, he was 1.6d. That range shortly started dropping.

The whole point of this is there are far too many LA7's in the MA. Back when the Chog and Nik were uber, people were ranting about them. The result was Chog got perked, and a whole lot of weight added to it. The Nik had it's flight model reworked. I just think it's time for a few perks on the La7 so it isn't so prevelant.

CHog's accounted for 30% of the kills in the MA before it was perked.  The La-7 accounts for about 9%.  What was the comparison again?

"Perk the Typhoon so the fuel porkers will actually have to learn how to bomb."

Right now the LA-7 is the best answer to 425+ i.a.s. airfield jabo pilots.  As it is, the advantage lies with the jabo planes since they're on offense.  You completed your bomb run uncontested, right?  So what you're really complaining about is that you actually were shot down on pull-out instead of being able to swing around and strafe uncontested.

If anything, perk the Typhoon.

Wrong ... they didn't add weight to PORK the plane as you allude to, they added weight to CORRECT the modeled weight.
