RUDE ..Need your backing for this one! :).....

HTC could you please add a new stat to the scoring pages.

It will be a percentage value linked to various altitudes flown and for how much time is spent by that player at (around)the heights listed with total time spend flying.

e.g.:

 Mrfurball:
5k......54%
10k.....25%
20k......18%
25k+.....03%

'Altdweeb#1'

5k....10%
10k....5%
20k....10%
25k+...75%

That way we could see who the alt dweebs are :D

HTC Please do it for us!!:)

Altitude is Energy

5K or under... 90%
10k down to 5K.....10%

why fly any higher?  No matter how high you go someone even more timid or patient than you will be higher.

You still have to come down if you want to kill me.  and if you see me it will be in a crowd so you can't just B&Z me to death.

If you fly up there you will not see any good fights... you will not get any better..  you will maintain a newbie/rusty player status.

you will be forced to fly certain planes and certain ways.

what makes you think furballers and low alt guys don't fly to live?   I agree that it is harder to maintain a high K/D while staying where the action is but that makes it all the better.

I agree Hazed, but HT won't  do this....we can't even enjoy the server broadcasting our kills publicly for fear of humiliation of the downed pilot.

Its hard to stay below 10k on BigIsles, unless there's a carrier involved. The bases are so far apart that its almost guaranteed that the first plane you see will be at 15k or more.

not to nitpick, Rude.  But I think it has a lot more to do with removing system spam from the text buffer.  The buffer moves pretty fast in the MA now, even with only 2+ kills being landed showing up.  Can you imagine how fast it'd be if it was back to the old instant kill public messages for everyone?  :)

Lazs is mostly right in this case though.  Fighting in the fur hones your SA and your ACM.  It makes you better.  I know I can definitely last longer in those 3 v 1's and worse I find myself in while playing in the CT now.  That all comes from furballing in the MA.  If you want to learn the maximum you can get out of your plane, then you need to take it low into the furballs.  You might get beat the hell out of often, but when you take that SA and knowledge of your plane that you learned in the fur up to a 1 v 1 at alt, you'll be far more dangerous to that enemy.

Furballing has made me a better virtual pilot, so I'm now just an average stick instead of a crappy one.  :)

In the beginning HT created the game,  the AH players were all equal and they had all the same rights, though paying 15$.
Then someone came to say "hey HT we are furballers, we fly so low, we are so good, we love ACM ,....then......we are more equal than the other,   and so on....
HT in his infinite patience tried to not give ear  to them, so they claimed some more " hey HT lets do prescription lists against those nasty boom&zoomer and cherrypickers and energymongers they are a shame for all the comunity"
Still patiently HT tried to not be tempted by these  rebels

But they tried the last chance "please HT please do something ,they are ruining all the game, WE are the right one , we know how to fly, we are the ACM masters, the HO druids.
Please if you dont want to ban them all at least make them pay something like 30$.....
HT was watching from the high and his mouth opened in a  foxy big grin......

Furballing is only good practice for ..furballing.Its not good practice of Boom and zoom or high alt energy fighting or for true wingman tactics  (some do but its not that common) at least not often,

The fact is all your furballing knowledge wont help you if your in a scenario and ordered to perform a different task.
Boom and zoom flying is good practice for booming and zooming and furballing is good pracice for furballing. It does I think teach yu to invent tricks which can be usefull or to learn to disengage accurately but then you learn these when you learn to fly BnZ.

Robert shaw the cellebrated author of 'fighter combat tactics and maneuvering' says in his book that the boom and zoom with pitch back requires as much skill as the turn and burn type.He explains that thepilot often has to fly his aircraft whilst looking back over his shoulder, very disorientating and his eyes are therefore not able to scan cockpit instruments as easily as the pilot using his forward hemisphere. It makes sense.Apparently many a pilot has extending right into the ground whilst flying and looking behind.
Both types of fighting require skill and to deny it is a bit pathetic. It happens that some of us have styles and habits and we tend to favour one way of fighting or the other.

You know what can really make things a bit better ? play AH in both modes.Do a bit of everything and things dont get as boring. If you are bored then take an aircraft which is totally different and learn to fly both ways(furballing or strat) take a hurriC and furball, or a p47 and try it as a high alt fighter.

or just join one of my crazy missions :) the 202 one today was fantastic :)
