Looking for a chance to fly the Blue planes against the Japanese plane (or vice versa) in a quasi-historic setting? Then be sure to check out tihs weeks CAP event!

The US Navy squares off with the Japanese military machine in an epic battle over the Island of Rota in the Marianas! For more information ,check the CAP forum.

I hope to see you there Saturday, the 28th, at 5:15 PM EDT

I still can't believe the number of players who feel intimidated by either of those planes outnumber the number of players who would enjoy the event (or enjoy it more) with them included ... but .... ShruG ... your call. I'll catch the next one that has Corsairs in it (Nikis to offset their intimidating uberness if need be). Rumor has it ... that it flew during the last half of the Pacific war. ;)

Not sayin' your CAP won't be fun and successful ... it's just a tad bit exclusive for me (but that's me). :D

There is no anti-hog conspiracy at work here
CAP events are chronological. This weekend is summer 1943. The USN forces do not have any land bases.

as far as exclusivity goes... I think only flying events with hogs in them is a bit exclusive... but maybe that's just me.

An individual is allowed preferences. A group of individuals may well be, too ... if that group all share in the same identical preference. Occasionally individuals or groups may disagree on something based on preferences ... occasionally based on misperception. :D

This passage mislead me:

"Over the past year the United States military has cleared the South Pacific of Japanese forces. While stalwart troops continue to conduct a guerrilla campaign from caves and remote hideouts, there is no longer any organized resistance. With the securing of New Guinea, the US has shifted their efforts to the Central Pacific. The next planned step in their advance is to capture the strategically important Mariana Islands. First stop: Rota."

It didn't sound like it was late war since we were pretty well busy in the South Pacific well into `44. Of course, this may well be an alternate timeline campaign (which I am totally for, actually).

Thanks for the clarification here and there.

CAP is a great event for squads Arlo, come on by. 880 has had a great time in them, and we have flown many Carrier Ops vs our historic opponents. Beats the hell out of MA any day, there is no "IJN" to fight there...just a bunch of LA7s and P51s.

Ooops, that frame was run on Sat June 28th :(

No Ki-61s this week, but check back on the 12th, and you should be in luck.

All the same though, we could use any IJN flyers we can get.
