Recruiting for "Operation Sledgehammer"

Looking for any squads flying in AH that would like to participate in a cooperative mission Friday, Nov 26.  I'd like to do it around 4:00 pm EST, to allow any European players to participate at a reasonable hour.  As this is the day after the Thanksgiving holiday here in the U.S., most Americans will be home off work that day.

Even if you don't belong to a squad, e-mail me and let me know if you'd like to participate.  I'll create a roster and form adhock mission packages for those individuals.  While this is not a scenario per se, it will represent a two-hour coordinated air offensive and should be great fun.

I'd provide more details, but operations security prevents me from revealing mission specifics over an open channel.  Flight leaders will be e-mailed an Air Tasking Order (ATO) the night before, and will brief their flights mission start-10 minutes.

Great idea... unfortunately (for me) that date and time falls on the "official" opening day of the holiday shopping season, and my wife has plans for me that day.

Glad to see your post Rojo, this will make the arena a whole lot more interesting if we can get enough players involved in it. <punt!> The e-mail is starting to come in, and we may even have a volunteer for the LW CO (what do you say, weazel?).  I'm envisioning something a kin to the old brand-W "Weekend Warrior" for this.  8th AF targeteer's are currently working on ATO's for both tactical and strategic targets.

It would be great if HtC could be convinced to disable one of the three countries, enable only LW a/c for one remaining country and U.S./British a/c for the other, for about a four-hour period. Unfortunately, I doubt they would, even if it was easy to do. So we'll just have to live with things as they are.

 Well I don`t have any (scenario) C.O. experience and would rather let someone else with a better understanding of the strat in the game do it if possible. (Funked?) But I will if no one else is willing. Volunteers please.

Weazel: I'll let you know if anyone else volunteers.  So far, all e-mail has been for Allied side.  Let's keep this thread near  the top so we keep interest high.  The LW would pretty much be in a defensive role. The idea is to explore what effect the strat elements have in this game. And to have fun, of course.  Talk to you later.

Well it looks like there`s little interest being generated for the opposition. It`s probably as well since due to the(lack of)  high alt performance of the fighters you bomber guys are basically invulnerable above 25-30k. I`ll still show up for it though.

Well, the ATO is firming up, and the flight assignments (initial are out).  Anyone still interested, contact me via e-mail.  In any event, their will be a general call for volunteers, anyone who happens to be on-line at the time, to fill out squardon/flight assignments and man gun positions.

Remember, zero-hour is Friday, Nov 26, at around 4:00 pm EST. Should be...interesting  .
