HTC stories...
« on: June 27, 2003, 07:28:13 AM »
Seeing how Skuzzy locked three Shane threads and suggested we discuss Shane on Snane's own  message board I got the idea that we discuss the great guys and ladies at HTC right here on their own message boards.

Since I never met them personally, only talked once to Skuzzy over the phone about some account problem - he was cool and solved the problem immediately. I also havent had too much interaction with them in this game- specially not lately- hint hint - though once Hitech gave me an MA ride in his P51/Me262 test plane and before release once we had a nice talk about my behavior on Ch1 that day. ;) But aside I dont know them well at all. :(

But a lot of you do,  know them both well and over a long time including here in AH and before in WB or other sims and I'd like to start this thread for you to share your stories about HTC people..

Ok, whos the first brave one?  :)

I don`t know the guys personally, but they sure make the best game I ever played (well Paradroid was pure genious, too).

I shot down HiTech`s pony once (online) and went on bragging on squad channel for an hour ;)

Anyone know about HiTechs programming environment ? I bet on emacs, a desk stained with ash and coffee-cup-marks and a keyboard no one else ever touches voluntarily, framed by Rational Rose "wallpaper" and notes sticking on them in 3 layers.

Er... I shot down Pyro once.  7 kill sortie in a Seafire IIRC.  :D

Dont know Skuzzy that well at all, but he deals with my annual "not BBS kosher" outburst and insult fest quite well... its almost time again.. bout 10 months since the last one.

I apologize in advance.  ;)

Heard HT over Vox one day.  He is either Darth Vader or has one of those amps to lower your voice set as low as it will go...  :)

I know Skuzzy real well, I whine at him constantly about the map not being Trinity, and Bish getting bottom.

Dale has got a very deep voice, somewhat unussual for such a long lanky texican.

The real power at HTC however is not HT but Yankee. She "Runs" things, dale nods his head & does what she says.

The exception for this is at cons when they get to play the reverse role for a few days.  :)

Ronnie is a goddess, that pretty much sums it up.

Pyro is one of those geeks you love to hate or hate to love.  Dark, brooding, seldom speaks and quietly if he does. Yet somewhere inside hides a flame SO HOT! But the outside never shows it.

Skuzzy I have not met in person. Hes old school.  Hes been messing around with computers & all knids of networking since god made the first chip.

As to the Artists, well they are easy going, friendly, quick to talk, animated.
Great guys to have a beer with.

I think they tend to liven up HT & pyro a smidge.

If you want more than that you'll have to shell out the clams & come to Con!

ROFL, im sure if he ever gets sick of us whining at him, theres always a career for him in voice overs:D

I do remember hearing HT getting upset on vox 1 time.  There was lots of guys whining at him when he was not in blue mode and just trying to have fun.  Cant remember exactly what he said but the end result was he logged in disguist.  Cant say i blame him, must be awful not being able to fly the sim you created without a zillion guys goin ' Whaaaahhh HT,  I want, I want, I want.....................'.  Suppose its a price he has to pay:rolleyes:

Being a "Texican", I take issue with your statement that Dale is one. He is a mid-westerner (Iowa, I believe). He was living in Michigan when I first met him many years ago. Wanna here about how I owned him when he first started playing AW....or we could talk about how he has owned me since :D.

Pretty on the mark with your description of Doug :). My most impressive memory of Pyro is him landing a C47 on top of the tower in AW.

I have shot down HiTech in his F4U-4, I was on the day everybody was yelling at him and he starting swearing on the channel I was on, no one else heard it. I couldn't fly I was rolling so hard. When the new patch came out and we first got the pizza map and the bomber formations, I took up a P40E and I shot down 3 B26's and I heard HTC say wtg BlueiceJ. I was happy the rest of the day lol. My friend camel says that he has talked to HTC on the phone and he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Salute Everyone!
