I always wondered if the squads from different countries have ever arranged to meet in the MA at a pre arrange alt and time to just rumble as wings?
Say 2 or 3 squads from each side make a rumble night where the CO's have agreed during the week to take off times, alt and even plane sets. During the whole time period the CO's communicate to insure as attrition happens that the squads regroup to up as a wing again, rather than onesy-twosys. Use the missions editor to incourage non squad single flyers to take part for at least one go.
I know the masses of cons on dar would attaract the usual bunch of poachers in lala's, stangs, spits and nikis. But take em out with numbers, or station a cap in late ware planes to take em on. Now and again by accident I've been in things like this when my mission stumbles into an equaly large group and we fight or the reverse.
Has a buff squad ever joined with fighter squads, climbed to 20k, then tell everyone where they are going and challenge that country to stop them? Or have arranged already for the other countries squads to be waiting? WW2 in Europe was almost like that. Everyone knew when the buffs were coming and what to expect.
From what Ive seen squads as a group will go at it with another group and not run. It's mostly the single flyers that run. A night of upping fighter sweep missions to agreed upon locations and alts might be one way to give newbees who join in a way to get experience and become confident enough to pick fights on their own. I've learned a lot over the years by tagging along with squads. Squads have a lot of good game habits they demonstrate that help the new player to get oriented to AH.
Why not use the player control we have over the environment, and the relationships the overall squads community has to orchastrate large actions? Just agree to be some where at an alt and a time to fight for the fun of fighting.
