Frenchy I gave my word I will fly the P47-D25 from 7/01/03 till my birthday 8/06/03.

How do you guys fly P47's so well. Frenchy you beat me stall fighting on the deck and I was LA5. LtfFoot you beat me at co-alt stall fighting when I was LA7 below 10k. How do you guys make P47 out manuver such a smaller plane????? I can eat a spit IX and P51-D at 15k 2 vs 1,,,,,then you guys hand me my arse. Geeessss...I give up. Will you teach me pleeeaassseee?

they're using your speed and acceleration against you.

what you need to do is slam on the brakes as well and when it get's into a rolling scissors, to really work your throttle and at times on the upside of the rolls to go up a bit further - bleeding more speed - so as not to overshoot, drop back down and pop those wallowing slugs.  takes a lot of effort, working flaps, throttle, rolling and all the while hoping none of their squaddies come in to pick you.

Exactly as Shane said Bustr. Most MA guys flying those lil rockets keep the throttle wide open while pulling hard Gs thinking "I can outurn this monster".

Note to Shane: I see you learned from your mistakes;)

You see Frenchy is a tricky one - he seems like an expert and a god pilot but he really sucks much of the time and most of his kills are vulches and he cant even do that right without getting all shot up. So dont listen to him and do always keep full throttle on that La7, and flaps  whats flaps, you dont need no stinkin flaps..  ;)

Forget about using flaps, throttle and the other cheats. Ok they are fine if the only way you wish to beat your enemy is by angles. Just climb and you will bleed plenty of speed and cut your forward translation shorter. Initiate the climb early enough in the scissors, not after you've already slipped in front of the enemy's guns.

Watch out for the enemy see the climb and trying to escape by diving so you can follow him close enough to refuse a reversal/HO. This repeated often enough times will leave them at deck below you. Time consuming perhaps but quite a safe play, not considering other cons entering the fight.

Not in the ma.....

Either the spitdweebs on your team will dive in and kill the guy while you're setting him up, or his friends will try and gang you.

Energy tactics are of little use in the MA environment, where survival is of secondary importance to "getting the quick kill".

This description too strongly reminds me myself. May be Frenchy is my long lost twin brother?

Frenchy, are you small, ugly and fat?

Innom... are you still an FDB?  You seem a little to "whiney" to be one.... I'm surprised your erstwhile friends haven't reamed you out by now.

Most all everyone in the 56th are good sticks- they'll hand you your bellybutton in a P-47 no matter what you fly.  Just ask if you can fly with em for a few weeks, you'll become a better pilot than you would in 6 months of flying with other people.

Hell you don't need a few weeks. All you really need is a good solid arse whipping by one of the over and over and over and you set your mind to eliminating the rust. Also when they are able to type out their next play and you can't even talk and defend it you know you're gonna virtually die. ;)
