AKWeav, I've got a question about the white bottom of that model.
Most importantly,
do not use masking tape where two colors are to meet! Especially if you are brushing on the paint. If you look at the adhesive side of masking tape you'll find it's quite rough, providing plenty of areas for the paint to leech under.
Go to an automotive paint store, and get some blue "fine line" tape. This is available in varying widths. The thinner it is, the easier it is to bend around corners. For spraying, this tape can be backed up with good regular masking tape.
I do most of my large surface painting with an air brush. For the light gray bottom of the hurri, I only had to mask the cowl forwards of the wings, and the fuselage aft of the wings. The wings and stabelizers didn't require masking as the angle of the spray mist was away from the camo tops. This also provided a softer line of seperation.

(I know one of the options is Bud Anderson's "Old Crow").
Thought "Old Crow" was a 51-D model. 1:72 is too small for these old eyes.
