RAM Misreporting
« on: July 04, 2003, 12:11:52 PM »
Other night I thought AH was a bit sluggish. When I camer out windows was reporting only 384Mb RAM! Reeboot had 512 back again?? Havn't seen it again. Will keep an eye on it. Funny ammount of RAM to fail with 2 x 256 installed.

Funny enough my son was getting " out of memory" errors playing Jazz Jackrabbit II. I am amazed this ancient game runs at all on XP mind!

during boot up it reports how much ram you have.  If it doesnt match how much you installed, possibilities are:

1. one of the ram sticks are gone bad; you need a replacement
2. one of the ram sticks is not firmly in place. you might wanna try and check it.

You might check for a BIOS update...
