has anyone seen this and...should I or shouldn't I?

My system should be able to handle it

As with most of the high end video cards in the market now your CPU is going to be holding it back a little but you should be fine. That is if you want to drop close to $500 on a new video card. For about $300 less you could get a nice 9700Pro or even a Ti4600 128MB card.
