actually ive met far more people far more diluted then myself. of course if you interacted with actually people you would come to find this out for yourself as well.

The mesage in a bottle story was neat.. Him dieing wasn't.

I launched a few when I was about the same age as him, a couple when I was a little older. My bike license is happening in "2 weeks" time. I just hope I don't end up in the same state.

It's kind of a nice story, in that the families put so much meaning into it and took a certain amount of comfort out of the whole thing...

But I don't get it. Can someone explain to me what is so neat about it? Guy puts message in bottle to be found. Message in bottle gets found. I was waiting for some kind of twist, but nothing interesting happens. What's the big deal here?

I imagine if the fuel cutoff was violent enough the rear wheel would lock up - could send you in any direction.

Neat story, interesting thing to see Venetian Isles in here as that is were I grew up. I lived at 2022 Illinois Ave from 3rd grade to 6th then moved one street (canal) over to 1974 Hawaii Ave untill 10th grade when we moved to the state of Indiana. Great times and this story brought them back.

By the way we lived in Indiana for one year, the winter of 1978 (worst blizzard you ever saw) then back to Florida where we stayed entrenched eversense.

By the way is it that time of the month for some of you, I mean chill guys.

Nope, don't buy it. No motor just runs out of gas if the fuel line is cut/blocked. Sputter sputter, then blah maybe. Pull the clutch and ride it out. Besides bikes go straight with the back wheel locked up.

the "neat" part for me was the fact he kinda spoke to them from the grave

sorta like discovering a roll of film getting it developed and seeing pictures of a loved one who is no longer here

or seeing a video of that person you hadn't see before and hearing his voice again ...

Do you ride? Are you familiar with what direction a motorcycles wants to go when you brake (or lose power) in a corner? It tries to straighten right out or drift wide at the least.

Seems like kind of a lame story. Rip's was much better. I'm glad he posted it. Afterall... someone gets a buck in Rip's story. Someone died in the other one.

For me the kicker was the history. Like Eagler said, finding a roll of film with the image of a deceased loved on it (which isn't too far from a true story of a man who went searching for his brother who had been reported missing while climbing a glacier - he found his brother's body and the body of the climbing companion, along with his brother's camera).
