Spitfire Mk XII

Put into limited production (112 built, IIRC) and service in order to run down low level Fw190 raiders.

The picture is also the cover of JANE'S Fighting Aircraft of WWII.

It's either a Mk. XII or one of the Mk. IV prototypes.  The first Mk. IV prototype (DP845) became the first Mk. XII prototype.  The second Mk. IV prototype (DP851) became the Mk. 20 prototype and when Mk. 20 was canceled it became the Mk. 21 prototype.

The plane in the picture is either DP845 or a production Mk. XII

The XIV did not have the small bulge/fairing on the nose and a mast antenna (used a whip).

So yes, a Mk XII.

Mk.XII is correct gents. Put this beast in the plane set and a lot La-7s will remain in the hanger.
