A Gastro-entérite (gastroenteritis for you I think ?)  one of teh best think to do is to drink some cola , soup and eat some white rice without anythink else (no butter on your rice ;))

Concerning the orign well it can be a virus ,a bacteria ,an allergia ... the worst I ever got was after eating a bad oyster I was completly out of order during 4 day ... and spent on day monitored in a hospital (and I still eat oyster ... in fact I eat more oyster than before just to avenge :))

Kinda cute...

My wife went to the store and bought me some chicken noodle soup as requested.  Campbells Chicken noodle..my old stand by food whenever I get sick.

She must be so used to buying food for the kids because she got me Chicken "Noodle 'O' s" and Chicken Alphabet soup.:D That's gonna be interesting on the next bathroom trip.  Maybe I can at least spell "poo" even though I can't properly form one yet.
Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain

I got nailed by those bastiges at Burger King, extreme abdominal pain, vomiting and the old Wimbledon two step.......phoned the NHS help line and spent 30 mins arguing with the nurse that I didn't think I was having a heart attack, I didn't need an ambulance and no it wasn't appendicitis cause I had mine removed 5 years ago.

That scares me..re: the wife. She is pregnant and the last thing she needs is this.

try not to worry about this too much.  my wife seemed to pick up extra imunities when pregnant.  I don't know if there is any scientific evedence to back it up, just my observation and simular stories from other people I've talked to.

but through all 3 of my wifes pregnancys, at least once she managed to be the only person missed when the flu (cold, whatever) would get just about everybody.

we even had one with the second child where you get sick then get well and then re-catch it from the others who where sick. it just kept going around at work and at home. and just about everyone had it atlest twice that winter but she never caught it.

of course we did our best to keep her away from the sick people but I don't think that would explain the whole thing.  I think they get a little extra boost that gives them better odds at beatting sickness before it sets in.
