A few points on why AH2 is not close to completion:

If you look at the screenshot HiTech posted you'll notice that the although the exterior texture of the Pony was new and in hi-res, the interior texture was the old. The Pony was also the same 3d-model we got now. I think HTC will have new hi-res textures for everything in the game, and if the new screenshot is of an old Pony in a new semi-complete "hide", I think AH2 is not excactly around the corner. Looks like they are making real progress though, and I bet the FM changes got priority over eyecandy anyhow.

You don't really believe they're going to redo the 3d model of the pony although it was just replaced with a completely new model just half a year ago, don't you?

I suspect they will see "Something" at the con.

HT has a long history of trying to make sure con goers get a good ride for their money.

What better rabbit to pull out of his sleeve?

Where better to do a quick & dirty beta test than a nice closed enviorment like a convention.???

Course I could be full of it, but thats my guess.

Rest of us mortals will see it 2 weeks after con once he has a few more bugs worked out.

AH2 is a fake.

The picture HT posted were rendered in 3D Max. People whose nicknames are "Natedog" and "Superfly" does not exist at all, those handles is all HT's others nicknames. He wants us to believe that HTC has artists in the team. In fact all graphix for AH is made by Skuzzy in Windows Paint.

The reason why they keep insist that AH2 exists is their hanger for money and bribes. The reason why HT bought plane recently is that he knows that sooner or later this all will be known by everyone, and he will need to escape to save his money and bribes.

Now, to say it some other way, AH2 is 2 weeks out :)

Yes infact I do. AH is way behind current flightsims in 3d model complexity. I for one can't understand why AH models the same plane for the interior cockpit view AND the external view. If you fly really close to another plane you can see the instruments for cod's sake. A high resolution model for the cockpit view and a low resolution (like we have now) for the exterior views would let the simulation be much more imersive and allow a reasonably low poly count because it's only your plane that is complex. This is how every sim I know does it ... except AH.

Thanks for ruining the fun.  I was looking forward to a long thread of people falling all over themselves trying to post clues to an impending release that was mentioned would occur in the coming months.  Looks as if the Sherlock Holmes group overlooked the biggest clue of all.

at con your crazy first ht said he would need beta test and so he would post post in AH2 message boards and i still have yet to see it and i bet you they will give screenshots of AH2 and new aircraft list and that is all.
