can the SEA be reserved by players?
« on: July 11, 2003, 02:54:03 PM »
Flossy,

I am just wondering,  Can the SEA Be reserved for Player opperated events?

Ghostdancer elsewhere on the BBS mentione an Idea of a Country v Country Challange.   This would be an Interesting event.  (sorta like my old AvA nights but on a bigger scale)

I have another different Idea rolling around in my head.   I think it would be good to organise "Bomber Camp"   This would be a planned Bomber training school,  running a couple of nights.   Something on a much larger scale than the TA would be suited for.    Something open to all AH Pilots..  having several instructors working out of different feilds,  teaching different aspects of bomber work.

This is just mostly a heads up,  Maybe something to be breached in the CM forum.    I will most likely talk with you and GhostDancer about it some at CON.

No Answer needed now... Just something to think on...

To answer your question Grimm. Yes, the CM team does do player design / sponsored events. I have to dig up the exact questions we usually ask but something like:

[list=1]
  • Tell us what you want to do
  • Request what CMs you would like to work with. Will try to match you up with them.
  • Tell us a date or date you would like to do your event on. And then we will see how closely we can match your requested date(s) to the schedule.

Flossy will get back in touch with the exact specifics. I just don't have them here at work.

As for the RJO / Rooks Country  versus  MAW / Knights Country duel .. well would be sort of a one night event. Would just have to find a free night where CAP or Squad Ops is not running. Would be my first guess (not going to bump either for the event).

I am sure she will contact you about more particulars on this idea and your other idea.

Certainly it can - as long as it does not interfere with any scheduled events.  We would, of course, need to work with you to decide exactly how you would like the SEA to be set up and a CM would be on hand during the event to deal with any issues as they arise.  :)

I like this idea, but would be a bit worried about doing something which could arguably be called training - I wouldn't like to upset the Training team!  ;)  I could certainly use it myself, though!

Yes no doubt - I very much look forward to meeting you there, Grimm!  ;)
