These are shots of CFS2---its a pretty good looking game.  I would really like to see AHII:TOD look like CFS2, because I would like to note that I have it and it worked smoothly on my old comp which was a 900mhz PentiumII, 128mb RAM, and a 16 bit video card.  CFS has beutiful smoke and fire effects, exhaust fumes, opening canopys, and awesome bailouts.

Yes, it is very good looking and has lots of details, like  Retracting tailhooks and folding wings to name a few.  But Its not as much as the fact that it is good looking, but it is good looking and runs well on a PIII 900mhz geforce2, which is the system requirements of AH2.

That does look beautiful and those explosions are exactly what i want from AH2. I also like the small details like aluminium showing through paint thats scratched the 'dirty' look to the exhaust parts and the bullet ejected casings.

The pilot looks great, the debris from the explosions the broken wing with its twisted and broken frame look. ALL superb and something AH2 should aim to beat not just equal. I hope HTC do it well. I must say i thought the screen shot we got was a bit too clinical. no natural looking dirt or scratches. The way the runway is perfect and doesnt have the real look to it is a little worrying to me. Still im sure any failings in the detail will be made up for in the career mode, at least i hope so,

I think this game was also released in 2000, only a year after Aces High 1 was released....just shows how behind the current Aces High is and how much HTC is going to have to make up for it.

The flameouts in the game are also incredible looking, couldn't find a shot of one though...

Good News!!!! Even if the textures in ah2 are cartoony looking (which I doubt they will be) we can still make our own realistic ones like CFS2 with wearing paint and scratches!

Custom skins... Woo Hoo!!  That's just about the best news I've heard about the new release.  But as far as the textures, speaking of landmass, CFS2 isn't all that much ahead of AH.  The fields look a little different, but the landscape detail falls off dramatically once your in the air.  I dunno, maybe that's how they get the frame rates to work.

Now, what I REALLY like about CFS2 and would like to see implemented into AH is the weather.  Of course, I havn't followed AH2 all that close, cause I'm too busy having fun, but the intense weather makes CFS2 that much more intense.  I like to set up dense thunderstorms and try landings... but that's just me ;)

Here are some more pics....more smoke and fire, missing engines, cockpits and such.  However I would like to note whoever took these pics was running it with  semi low-res textures, usually they are much higher.
