little history from texas tons of vets here i have spoken to a guy  that started in 1938 horse infantry shoveling horse toejam and ended flyin b29s and about every other plane in ww2 including 38s witch he said scared the heck out of him somthin about it never really had the bugs worked out in real life you made the compression mistake once.and once only once.  new engines every 12 hours of running time!! this for a plane with a 12  hour range!! and so much maintenenece on the engines in between flights.you couldent fly the same plane every day.)

 (he said in those days all you had to do was ask and you could check out in just about any plane you wanted.) they even kept old byplanes around cause they were fun to fly man what a time.he was in his 80s and had a permenent smile and absolutly refused to speak of combat at all. he said he just chose not to remeber but flying storys by the dosen he had a run in with mexican airforce in 1945 that was a hoot(they were celebratin the end of the war in flight read in they were drunk and got lost over the gulf of mexico).they were in a b29 and were intercepted by mexican airforce (mexicans couldent reach them on radio cause they were listening to the news and music) bet none of you can guess what fighters the mexican airforce had in 1945? that could intercept a 29?

I don't know, but will guess.

Germany had surrendered a few months before.

We all know they couldn't get ME-262s.

So, I'm betting that the Brits/Russians/Americans may have doled out a Few FW190s to the Mexicans as they dismantled the LW.

Or perhaps the TA-152, but I find that less likely.

bzzzzzzz wrong !

nice but i dont think the mexican airforce  maintinence department would do well with german machines for a number of reasons.you ever been to mexico?

 but you raise and interestin point what the heck did we do with all the german planes? i know from another vet that they took a captured 190d9 i think (he said it was a 190 with a inline engine) and packed it with  cosmoline in  crates to be shiped back home. it was one of the first to roll out of a underground assembly factory that was cut into the side of a mountain  he said the place was huge and modern beyond any thing he had seen or imagined. also the 190 they shiped home was the 3 or 4 or so produced buy this place but the estimate was that it could produce 20 to 40 a day!!!! he said they were there to destroy germany and with that reasoning they dynamited the whole place.

so i would guess knowin the way us military thinks we probly destroyed luftwaff planes am i wrong?

Well Towd, being a native Mexican, I should take offense at your rather ignorant reference about Mexican aviation maintenance workers' inability to maintain German aircraft.  However, I had a good enough chuckle trying to make out your message through your creative spelling, so I'll pass up any further flaming.
Anyways, Mexico went to war against Japan together with the US, and sent pilots to fight the Rising Sun.  Eventually, the Mexican airforce (Fuerza Aerea Mexicana) sent its 201 Squadron to the PTO, and saw action in US-built P40's.  I'm going to guess that by 1945 the US must have transfered some P51's to Mexico.

Anyways, waiting to see what the plane is.

sorry about the reference and i did not mean any disrespect, my best freind is a mexican national also i have mexican family( 2nd cousin one gen removed from mexico citicen imigrant). my father is a spanish speakin panamanian of irish decent. (irish were cheapest expendable labor in early 1900s for canal zone) im a 6th generation texan mostly german/irish/swedish with a cherokee great great granpa.

it is my opinion that maintinence standards in mexican army  were, at least in 1945 alot  more primitive than those availible in  germany luftwaff, as were those in U.S.A. and probably still are.

a few points

 hows you telephone connect from old mexico? you still need 3 lines to have a reasonable chance of makin a international call?

you ever drink a glass of tap water in mexico city or nuevo larado?

 you check the fit and finish on a mexican produced vw bug? as compared to german one?

how many times have you paid mexican cop off?(usualy for 10 or 20 bucks chump change) i have on many occasions.

on the other hand yall can still fix things they  have places in mex city that can fix anything not replace like in usa with shiny new parts for a fortune but fix as in repair.once drove a mecedes there,the money i saved on havin the deisel rebuilt payed for the side trip to cuba. you want to talk wild places.

 exactly how did mexican army loose what is now the south western usa?can u say siesta?


i live on a beutiful beach that we plain stole from yall (like california, new mexico,arizona, utah,nevada and some more im shure) with 1 100th the manpower and 200 times the balls. sorry im a texan and callum like i see um

p.s. yep my grammar sux but so did Col.Bowie and he managed to take our 5 musket armed mexican soldiers at the alamo on with one foot  in the grave and one hand on his famous blade. schoolin has little to do with ability. learned that in boarding shool and lamar univesity (donut tech)

p.p.s. you sound like upper class mexico city mexican and if you are your own countrymen would shoot you for your the pleasure of it, you know what i mean

mexicans got a word for yall i think you will know it.

I'll guess it was the P-47. The 201st squadron of the Mexican Expeditionary Air Force flew jugs overseas, maybe somone was flying them at home.

they werent at 29 highest alt they were lookin for landmarks. so high alt isnt the main requirement. hint its american and i dont think we or anyone else ever used it in combat but it was around about the whole warm, in this case it  was a armed fighter plane on an intercept mission not a experimental and was active plane in usaaf
at the time but i say again it was mexican airforce.

no here is another clue i have never heard anyone request it modeled for any sim and dont think it has been. but 99 to 100 percent of ww2 usa fighter pilots have flown one.
