Upside down day
« on: July 16, 2003, 07:32:36 PM »
I had a chance to go on a flight this morning with a retired AF fighter jock in his RV8. It was a freaking blast! At takeoff an  1800fpm climb and 2000 ft alt by the time we go to the departure end of the runway.

After we got away from the airport a few high G turns and some of the comercial pilot type maneuvers like the chendell (sp? ) and a cloverleaf. Then we got a  few aileron rolls. I did 2 but they were'nt nearly as pretty as his were. A nice high G "break" on landing at a smaller field then a really damn fast trip back to TUS for landing. That little bird just hauls at about 185 kts cruise. :D

Now I have to get together with a customer of ours and take him up on aerobatics training. It helps to wrench on a CFI's bird. :)

Yeeehaaaaa!

Amazing aircraft, aren't they Mav?

Can't believe the performance you get for that price.

You need to weasel your way into being his mechanic!
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!
