Linksys WIRELESS ACCESS Point Router with 4-Port Switch (wireless, but used with ethernet cables on the wife and my computer,)...when I use it, I lose connection about every 15-30 min. playing AH(but its random) When I by-pass the router and go direct to my cable box with the ethernet cable, everythings fine.  WTF?

WinXP Pro on both boxes.

Don't use big hardware words with me, I'm a software dude, not hardware. :D

Laymans answer:  Your router is shagged, get rid of it and go with the multiple NIC idea.

Do you have the computer you use for AH set in the 'DMZ' so it's not behind the router's firewall?  And have you tried updating the firmware on the router?

A squad mate had the same router as you with the pretty much same problem as you and it was fixed by putting his computer outside of the router's firewall and updating the firmware.

They pretty much hit the nail on the head Rip.

I won't use those products, so I have very little personal information to report on them.

No software was loaded with the Linksys.  Only my own firewall, which is disabled during AH sessions.

I have the same hardware and solved the problem by downloading the latest firmware from linksys and it now supports PuNP.

No its the internal soft ware of the device like a ROM on a PC. The ROM is flash upgradable to alow new features to be adde like PuNP. All you do is down load the new firm ware to your PC and run the program this will flash upgrade your linksys.

Well, the upgrade failed, rendered the router useless, I can't connect unless I bypass it  :(

I think its a linksys problem, just clashes w ah so we have to wait for linksys to step forward, which they may have already done.
Ive downloaded the fix and am getting tready to try my router a gain.  I'll let everybody know.
