Hope the new job is going well Mark.  :)
I wouldn't want (or expect) to take business away from the official Con.  But I will keep you posted.  :)

It's a wireless ethernet card.  $50-$60 bucks IIRC.  They are built into a lot of laptops, and a lot of hotels and other facilities are providing connections for them.

I have bought and sold a few of these on eBay and you could probably get a slightly used one for $30, or you could get a new one for $50-$60 and sell it for $30 after the hypothetical con.

Didn't make it this year. Not any FDB's going, so it is probably a bit too highbrow for me. Need at least 3 or 4 of us to bring the IQ level of the Con room down to an enjoyable level :)

Hoping it's in Texas again next year so I only have a few hours drive to get there.

MiniD how does Oct 16-19 hit you?  That's the California International Airshow weekend.  Airshow is in Salinas, and we could get a hotel/conference space in the San Jose area.  They've even got group tickets available for the airshow for a covered seating area with free food and a bar.

I think everyone could use a good Funk Con.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Alcohol would be mandatory in the hypothetical con room.  Non drinkers would be allowed into the room if they have NA beer, but only if they cover up the label.

I hardly think that being FunkedUp's double qualifies me as a person who has homosexual feelings for him.
