Coming MONDAY 7-21 to COMBATHANER
Originally posted by SlapShot First piece of news from HiTech was .... "There will be no new planes introduced in AH II" He said that they have over 70 planes to render in the current plane set so after AH II has had a good shaking down, then they will look at new planes. If I heard him correctly, I could be wrong, but we will see AH II : Classic Beta before we will see it in AH II : TOD Beta. He showed us the new micro-terrain using the Trinity map (flying around in GOD Mode) ... VERY IMPRESSIVE !!! Ground cover for GVs !!!. I asked him if bullets will be able to be shot thru the trees ... "Its completely configurable". Someone else asked if GVs will be able to run over bushes and small trees ... "Its completely configurable". It appears that with this new design, he is putting more power in the hands of the map makers with more "object" control. He has re-done the tracer graphics ... VERY COOL !!! He hasn't done anything with the hit sprites, but I think that he said that will be something that he will be working on (small potatoes). There is a new menuing system. Very nice looking and very user friendly. One of the new options that I like is that we will be able to create a "favorites" list for the hanger, so when going to the hanger, only your "favorites" will be displayed. The "bone", that HT showed us on the BBS here, was the left wing of the P51. The right wing has different test graphics of what damage will look like in AH II ... WOW !!!! Hole thru wings, that you can see thru ... various bullets hole and different size damage from the bullets. I only remember seeing a small airfield, but from the layout, the field maps that we have now will serve no use. From the air, it looked just like a real airport/airfield. I am sure there are more things that we went thru, but I just can't remember at the moment. All in all ... AH II is a tremendous leap forward and its a completely NEW foundation for HTC to bring Aces High to the next level and beyond.
