I run 1600x1200, 32-bit color, 6XAA, and 16XAF and it looks great, with framerates never deviating from their max of 85 (my monitor refresh rate). In my opinion, the game looks decidedly better with AA and AF, and, for some reason, the text looks crisper at 16XAF than at 4 or 8X (although still not as crisp as when AF is disabled--i.e., with anisotropic filtering set to "application preference" in the D3D tab of the ATI control panel). Indeed, I'd say that AF is almost a necessity on some of the maps (e.g., AK Desert), because without it the terrain shimmer can be overwhelming. Even if you decide that you can't handle the text blur from AF, AA really cleans up the cockpit "jaggies."
