I agree, but then again, we play a game in which we fly NAZI, slave labour built aircraft to attack and bomb cities.

I dont think it would have been taken any differently back in 1946

It is sick, but many games are sick or tasteless in nature. Unfortunately, considering the event it's based on isn't disguised in anyway and considering how recent the event was I would say it is wholly inappropriate.

Maybe its an adaptive therapy. You re-enact the most tragic thing that's happened to this nation since '41 as a coping mechanism.

Another theory: to appreciate what those people went through, you do it, too.

I'll bet most of us have developed a better appreciation for the WW2 air combat history since doing flight simulators.

thought along these lines while viewing ww2 german military items for sale on ebay .... wondering if in 2051 you'll be able to bid on an original de-fused pal bomb belt ... probably much sooner than that .....
