If they find any planes down there, and if they are in a good condition its worth any action taken to get them out.

No way you'd get me to go into a bunker containing live WW2 munitions.  Talk about unstable explosives...

Imagine if Saddam used a similar bunker to hide the WMD....

Could it take 60 years?

Not only did the commissars intern munitions beneath the runways, but also entire Nazi fighter planes, all fuelled and fully bombed-up, according to the Stasi.

MT...a serious question if I may?

If coalition forces find WMD's as described by the Bush Admin, I'm curious as to how you will react.

Also, UN weapon inspectors verified specific quantities of WMD's in 98....what do you think happened to them?

Not trying to play games here, I'm merely interested in your response.

Thanks

Rude,

I would be very happy if WMD are found. I would feel better about our leadership, and I would stop feeling this growing sense of betrayal and spin that seems to be coming from Washington.

i'm pretty sure seismic testing and geo-radars can reveal the existence of a bunker.. if not whats in 'em to boot.

hehe from the same paper:
"PM backs democracy for Hong Kong" - the Brits were decidedly less keen on democracy when they ran the place. ;)

I don't believe that's what they said....didn't they say they had found none to date and then were not allowed to look further?

Can't remember exactly.

I think you took my observation regarding the 60 years as anti-war. It was just the opposite. If Hitlers planes can remain hidden for 60 years, maybe WMD can also? Possible.

According to Scott Ritter (so you might want a second opinion) the Anthrax Iraq made has a shelf life (in optimal storage conditions) of 3 years, the VX gas 1-8 days and their Sarin and Tabun have a shelf life of 5 years. Mustard gas can be stored for decades - although with a lot of care and checking as it is quite corrosive. Here's a read for you: http://www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=15854
