Air Warrior III vs Ace High

I am a current member of Gamestorm and play AirWarrior III online. I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on Aces High. Our squadron is looking for a change to a more detailed and stable connection platform. We recently are experiencing multiple problems with AWIII and would appreciate any information on this online WWII game.

Thank you for your time

Ok, I still fly AW once a week with the VMF525 in FR.  I know what you are talking about regarding the connections. Last Sat nite 99% of our squad got the boot more then once!!  You will find in AH that connections are excellent and there is an entire forum dedicated to connections!!  BTW Skuzzy is the internet connect expert.

Regarding the sim, download it and play the H2H with your squad.  When ya feel comfortable then you can use your 2 free weeks to make a decision.

I find this to be much more interesting then AW, but that is just my opinion.

Good luck in your quest for a better sim

WHere to start: Download Aces high FE

Where to go from there: Install it and try out the software.

Now where?: If you think it's interesting, sign up for a free two week trial account and fly online.

Then what?: Pay for an account and stay on for a couple tours.

COming from AW3 initialy you will find the learning cureve pretty steep, as AH models a lot more effects than the AW FM, like Torque etc..

That means you should consider getting either a twist stick or rudder peddals to fly it to the fullest (and to have the least problems during takoff  )

There's several "helpre" functions in at this point like Auto-Takoff , which will fly you of teh runway and retract gear for you, Combat-Trim which will keep the airplane mostly in trim for the given airspeed (some AH a/C have prtey strong trim requirements)

If you have problems with the FM or the programm interface do not hesitate to contact  one of the trainers (you can find the contact on the AH help pages)

Cheers

Echo1, to be honest all you need to do is have each of your squad download AH and fly H2H for a week or two. Then open up free two week accountx and if the reasons and differences aren't emmediatley apparant,  then AH would not be for you and your squad.
Not being a smart bellybutton but doing an "AW3 vs Aces High" is comparable to a "Gary Coleman vs Mike Tyson" fight.  There is not a single thing about AW3 that isn't trumped handily by AH and AH has so much more. Try AH. You'll see what I mean.

One note about H2H -- it only uses the AH server to organize the games -- everything else is on the host's computer (kind of like the zone).  So don't judge connection issues from H2H.

I saw you in the arena last night echoone. I hope your first night in Aces High was enjoyable. Keep in mind you're in the learning curve now, and will be for several months to come, although after a few weeks you will be much better. I've been playing more than a year, and I'm still learning.

Anyways, Good Luck, and have fun. If you need any pointers, yell at one of the trainers.

Hi Echo1   ,

would be great to have you and your gang here.

For me it's simple, almost everythings better here   . Especially connections ARE VERY stable here.

So come over.

Hiya Echo1,

Welcome

Note: Signing up for H2H, will activate your 2 free weeks of arena time. so you'll want to get your squad in at the same time for the trial period.

Just noticed a couple of posts saying, "Play H2H, then join for the free trail", wich is incorrect. Or at least I think it is.

Echo1:

Welcome to Aces High !

Echo1, 1776, Westy:

Pardon me..but.....

Unless things have changed......

-When you fly H2H you need an account.
(an account does not mean you get billed)
-As SOON as you get your password mailed to
you from HTC, YOUR 2 WEEKS FREE BEGINS !!!
-It does NOT START when you enter the Main
 Arena the first time.

Hence..
If you fly ONLY H2H the first 2 weeks...
-you WASTE your 2 weeks free in the Main Arena
by letting it expire while fly in H2H.
-you get stuck with a "NewU##" I.D.
since you only get to pick an I.D. when you
enter the MA for the first time.
 (unless you start paying)

Therefore:
I suggest you fly in the Main Arena  AND in the "always free" H2H for the first 2 weeks.

Regards,
Snoopi

I am amazed at how many new users can't figure out why they can't enter the MA for their 2 weeks, when they received the password 3 weeks ago and have never entered the MA !

I believe the 2 week trial starts when you first enter the main arena.
