I happen to be in the Worcester area on business at the moment. Just wanted to say that I like this part of England. Been here several times. Just arrived at LHR yesterday morning.

Went out last night with a few local lads. Had myself a good snake and sydney, followed by real beer of varying brand names. Went to another pub where I had the chance to chat up a couple of slappers.

Tonight there will be more of us on the piss. Friday will be brutal at "The Gate Hangs Well" or more commonly known as "The Gate", as in 8 before 8 at the gate. After the pub will be followed by more slapper hunting at some after hours disco. The only problem is that after about 10 or 12 pints of beer my judgement gets clouded, including girl rating system. There are always mates around to remind the next day as well.

One thing interesting here is that if the woman has no interest in you at all, one gets shot down fairly quick.

After 10 pints of beer, I just like to keep it simple, "Hey lassie you on for the shag?"

Seriously I have always liked England!

Hey I am going to be staying near LHR Saturday night. I have never been through London unattached so if anyone has any recommendations. Of course there is the Soho area but I would like to find some place closer to LHR if possible. Maybe some place or area to have a couple pints, eat something, and watch (possibly chat up) the locals.

As an aside, one thing I have noticed is that just like in any big city, the people of London don't come across as being very friendly, in comparison to those up here in the Wocester, Hereford area.

That's because Londoners are bananas; they might have started out as decent people but the cess pit has worn away at their good nature. Also there are more foreign types than natives working in the service jobs that you probably interactive with most often. They aren't well paid and have to live in a city like London - that's going to bring anyone down.

As you move away from London things improve.

Damn rogwar! I live 30 mins fom LHR. Would have been good to see you, but I am myself going to be staying overnight near LGW in readiness for a trip to F-f-f-f-France the next day. Maybe next time.

Charming. What provincial utopia are you from then Dowding? Be warned though, as a Londoner I've probably never heard of it.

I am truly devastated by your witty response, but my tough northern exterior hides it extremely well. I'll be off down t' pit in a minute, but I will point out that not all Londoners are terrible people. I have friends down there who I visit occasionally, and even though I spend most of my time looking up in amazement and wonder at buildings that are higher than two storeys, I am able to discern from them that it isn't that bad.

But I will stick to my Steel City, persevere with the lack of electricity and outdoor lavatories in squalid backstreet two-up-two-downs, safe in knowledge that when I die of coal-dust induced bronchitis - at least I'll be buried in England.
