Rude Had Fun!

Last night my pal Toad took me out to his gun club for some ol fashioned clay pigdeon bustin with a 12 gauge.

I haven't pulled the trigger on a shotgun since I was 14....I had a blast.

Now of course I felt dirty inside for enjoying myself....guns are obviously a bad thing since many here in the O'Club have said so....still, a beautiful night in the country, friends and the smell of gun powder brought back some great memories as a young turd.

Why'd it take you so long to get back to Skeet?  I can't go a year without smelling gun powder...theres something addicting to it..maybe its the taste of the pheasant. ;)

He did well.

Took him about 10 targets to "get the picture" and then he was pretty much running them.

The kid's a natural.

Nothing wrong with shooting clay..  I've always wanted to try it, but sounds like fun for sure!

I pick up my Kimber .45 acp Ultra Cary II (Alternate to Colt Defender) this afternoon.  I can't wait to shoot the thing :D

If it aint radar or infrared guided, and doesn't have a rocket motor, it ain't good enough for deer huntin'  :p

Skeet is great, haven't done that for a few years.

I still have a Ruger 10/22 for target plinking.  All I have is the lame 10 round magazine.  Anyone know where I can obtain a higher capacity magazine?

It's not that kind of "~~**Gun CLUB**~~".

B.E. Hodgdon, the local powder manufacturer donated 80 acres of river bottom to a very small "gun club" bunch of local guys. Over the last 15 years we've slowly improved it with short, medium and long range pistol ranges, ~100 concrete rifle benches with 100 and 200 yard ranges, a 100 yard "sight in" range with 25 benches, a Law Enforcement range that we let the local cops train on for PR purposes (hard to shut us down when we're about the only place in Metro KC where cops can shoot.. and for free), a 500 meter military style range and a little place down on the end where you can set up a trap and throw some clay.

Which is where I took Rude.  ;)

Our "clubhouse" is just a fixed up farmer style steel shed and we have another plain steel shed where folks can set up their gear during matches.

So, forget the champagne, caviar, restaurant image. This is just a great place to shoot.

Best part is we all (~700 now) have our own keys to the gate and each person is his own "range master" so it's an absolutely zero hassle operation.

Oh... yeah... eat yer hearts out... $75/year for the family membership!

:D

Got any potential "step sisters"? If you do, it helps to note that on the application with their age and a photo.

;)

BTW, I think I may have an unused hi-cap mag for the 10/22. Let me look in the basement. IIRC, I tried one and it jammed too often for my taste. So, I probably have a used and an unused. I'll look around in the parts box.
