It looks like one of the earlier Lee Enfield rifles, but the sight differs so I'd say the very early lee enfield aka SMLE.

This is like the old joke that voters are harsher to their beer brewer if he has an outage, than their politicians after raising their taxes. Death and taxes are certain but, fun and sex is only now.

No.IIIMkI, but no cut-off, the cocking piece is not the round knurled one, and I can't see the back sight to see if it is the adj model. So post 1916? Or is it an Auz one?

a rifle

and since this is an air sim basically why the h$LL do you continue to post these stupid posts like this one, how about posting something more relavant like a piston from a merlin since that would be more interesting than 97% of your pics.

Did the title say "plane" or "plane part" ? I like Brady`s name the whatever threads, and if you don`t, concentrate on "Name this plane" ones.

And of course, STFU.

Damn straight :). Personally I don't know anything about guns and very little about ships or vehicles, but I like brady's posts because I can learn. Remember learning.....

If you like planes or plane parts, give mine a go, I'm trying to find obscure stuff, sorry if I repost something already posted though.

Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III

I own 3 of them, plus a No.4 Mk.I made made in the USA under lend lease. One of my No.1 Mk.IIIs saw service with the Aussie Light Horse in Palestine, circa 1917.

It's impossible to determine where this rifle was manufactured, but the wear and tear indicates that it was probably produced during or just after WWI. While it's possible that this rifle was made by the Lithgow Armoury in Australia, odds are that it is of Brit origin.
