Some companies have core strengths that I'll keep going back to.
Favorite manufacturers
Nike - but only their shoes (best balance of weight and cushion).
Craftsman - but only their hand tools (never broken, but have had them stolen).
Levi's - but only the 501 and 505 jeans, and Dockers pants (quality never goes out of style).
Timex - but only the Ironman line (everything else is just pretend).
Reebok - but only the fitness compression shorts (unique Y cut so no chafing on endurance runs).
Oakley - but only their sunglasses (optical quality, lightweight, good fit, durable).
Rockport - but only their loafer (most comfortable dress loafer I've found).
Teva - but only their sandal (best comfort, fit, and durability).
Favorite vendors:
Model Expo Online - best prices and great customer support.
Spike Nashbar - same reason, plus I can drive to their shop and save on shipping charges.
Target - beats Wal-Mart hands down. I'll also hit K-mart, but only because I can use their self-checkout and avoid the lines at the cashier stations. Wal-Mart is the pits when it comes to cheap retailing. I guess all those low prices meant store upkeep was cut waaaaay back.
Sports Authority - good selection, good services, good pricing, good sales, plus they sponsor a lot of local 5k races.
Publix Supermarkets - their deli and selection keep me coming back.
