Duckman still comes on on either Spike, Comedy Central or Bravo.  I forgot which one!

This one was posted awhile back ago.  I saved it and have used it ever since.

Check6

Sorry, but it's kind of loud, I had to adjust the volume on it to be able to hear it well in AH.  You've been warned. :)

how to use files
« Reply #12 on: December 01, 2003, 08:13:35 PM »
I've got the (Mitsu) self installing sound package, and would like to use the Cartman check six. I've done similar mods to other games, but I can't figure out how to do this. Could someone do me a huge favor and walk me through installing a single sound clip into my program?

Pretty simple.

Just take your cartman sound file and rename it check6.wav, then drop it into the sounds folder in your Aces High folder.  (Just in the main sounds folder ... not one of the individual plane subfolders created by mitsu's download).  Doing this, btw, will overwrite the one in there... so rename/back up the old one if you want to keep it.

Now, if you want to get really creative ...  you can have a different check 6 for each plane/vehicle by placing a separate soundfile named check6.wav into each plane subfolder in your sounds folder.   As long as it's an 8-bit mono .wav file it should work.

Those planes/vehicles without a check6.wav in their subfolder will draw on the default one in the main sounds folder.

e.g. I have german radio warnings in the subfolders for all of the lw planes, a british voice for the raf planes, russian in the vvs rides ... etc & etc.

I tried to pull some sounds off of the Mighty 8th B17 sim, but my computer couldn't open the .dll files.  It has a really impressive bomb release sound. Plus the 50 calibers sounded good.
