No-show Creamo
« on: July 30, 2003, 06:46:37 PM »
I borrowed a VCR from a pal, bought a blank tape, figured out how to work the damned VCR and am sittin' in front of the TV for a while now...

Much Music has been showing just regular videos, and I've been waiting for it to switch to the Toronto Rocks festival...

Well, just 2 mins ago it goes to 'Much News' where they had a live update from the show. The VJay says "Here we are at Toronto Rocks... blah blah... 4 hundred and 30 thousand people... blah blah blah... Rush are on the stage behind me... blah blah blah"

Wot?

If they ever DO switch to showing the concert it will have been too late. Rush are on stage right now. What a drag...

Sorry...

There's a chance Much Music will air the show in its entirety sometime, but it's not happening today. Maybe they'll put something together... editing out all the band change-overs and air it, like, next weekend or something.

Hmmm, thanks for trying.

There's a real crappy "live" webcast here and Rush is supposed to be on the webcast soon. Can't be live obviously.

Im confused what stations are what there as well. The is a Much Music station, and a MuchMoreMusic too? You should read their bbs there. Fans are really super pissed.

They obviously didn't spend the cash to buy the broadcast rights, probably because they knew they'd never recover the money since Rush is a washed-up has-been Canadian band with little or no following. :p

I'm gonna hang onto the tape machine for a couple of days. Just heard that Much is going to be editing together a proper show out of it all. It kind of makes sense... There's so much down time with band change-overs...

Cross yer fingers...

At the last minute, they couldn't work out the live broadcast rights apparently.  CBC had a 3 hour package on that night that had a couple of songs from each band, including Rush.  There will be a DVD, show or something I'm sure in the future.

MMM or MuchMoreMusic is an adult contemporary version of MM, which plays the latest hits.  They're owned by the same company.

Well Ceamtard .. I did a bit better than my fair weather friend Nash.  They jumped around from band to band and interviewed them.  There was about 2 songs from each band including RUSH.

I can send you the tape, but you might want to wait and see if they rebroadcast it.....

Well I certainly appreciate the effort guys, thanks!

I did find this-

Open Windows Media Player and choose File, Open URL and then type in (copy / paste)

http://www.fctvplus.net/~credo42/Duley/Rush_20030730_Freewill.mpg

(edit- saving it seems to work better, lotsa traffic as it gets out)

And I saw Tom Sawyer on the bad live cast in a crappy little screen but the vocals were amazing. (I could do without Alex’s guitar tone he’s had for awhile though.)

Happy Birthday Geddy a day or 2 late, 50 and he just rules these new metal punks rappin’ with chain drive wallets.

"Toronto Rocks" just came to my house via Netflix.

Haven't had the chance to watch it but to just preview Rush's performance. It's Limelight, Freewill, some Rolling Stones song, into The Spirit of Radio. Kinda a let down after getting "Rush in Rio" because it's the same time frame and of course the songs were extra well done for the Rush DVD, but was nice to see it on DVD finally. I do owe somebody a DVD of their choice though. Lemme know.

Ok- Back to the regular O'Club of fighting over rich guys that run for President because they have so much money they just need power and a cool 747 for free.

It was a SARS benefit, not a "concert", and of course my own Justin Timberlake groupie troll.  I guess I caught one.

I thought he didn't round out AC/DC well, but you fans seem as crazy about him as MTV, so think what you want.

Silly Creamo...don't you understand that since you got the DVD you absolutely love every artist on it.  Man you're dumb.  And you have Justin Timberlake posters lining your walls like wallpaper.  Oh, and you're a poo poo head too!

Thanks for the helpful comment, SOB.  That's basically my mentality in a nutshell.

I was just stating that I didn't think people who would watch the Stones, AC/DC, and Rush would be watching Timberlake as well.  Nevermind, go ahead and flame me again.
