Saitek Cyborg?

Ooookay, finally picked myself up a new stick (and the GeForce FX in the process) .. a Saitek Cyborg Graphite for  19.95.

It's a very solid feeling stick, and the way the pot is designed i imagine it'd stay VERY clean, the adjustability is nice, but the handrest is very akward feeling, but not a big issue.

My main qualms with it is the horribly thought out button and throttle positions. The 3 buttons on top are very hard to easily press without getting another caught up in the process and seem to be a tad too sensetive, since i can't rest my thumb on it without pressing it, and to use the HAT you have to rest your thumb over Button 2. The throttle sticks out over the front end of the base, making it very vulnerable to being hit and knocking it back to 80% or so (which is an issue for me, i hold the stick in my lap, no extra desk space) and it refuses to stay at 0%.

All in all it's an alright stick, but it definitely needs gettin used to.. and strong thumb muscles to keep the pressure off Button 2.

Oh yeah... NO TWISTY! Oh well, guess i'll order those CH rudder pedals i been lookin at.

Hmm I use the cyborg 3d gold i think it is, and I like the button locations.  I preferred the MS locations for the 4 buttons on the left near the front of the base but hated other parts of the MS stick.

The buttons at the top of the stick I have no problem with either as by adjusting I can use them quite well.

Now if only the hat switch was of better quality.

btw I use the stick on the desk

Whee, with the GeForce FX even my P3500 system can play IL2 with full graphics.
