US Economy Grows Faster Than Expected

Economy

Good new for the US...and the world.

Consumer spending up by 3.3% and spending on durable goods, or items meant to last three years or longer, jumped by 22.6% after falling by 2% in the previous quarter. Spending on nondurable goods ticked up by 0.1%.

....I guess the tax cuts were a good idea.

No, no, no... it's the end of the world! It's ALL over. We're DoooooOOOOOOooooooooOOOOOOOOm ed!

I'll somebody else come along here and explain it all to you though.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

It's good to see that the America economy remains so strong that it continues to grow despite the horrible economic meddling by Republicans in the form of unnecessary tax cuts.  It succeeds in spite of, not because of!

lies, damn lies and republican anmininistrations.

first quality of the data

"However, the Commerce Department will revise second-quarter growth estimates two additional times and cautioned that Thursday's report is based on incomplete information."

then why its not really the economy

"Spending by the federal government jumped, with a rise in defense spending attributed to the war in Iraq. Federal spending rose by 25.1%, the largest amount since 1967. This more than offset a slight decline in spending by state and local governments. Defense spending spiked 44.1%, the largest amount since the Korean War. The increase in government spending added 1.4% to GDP for the second quarter."

and then the only part that really matters

"But the gains in business, government and consumer spending were tempered by a decline in net exports as imports rose and exports fell. Exports fell by 3.1% while imports gained 9.2%. A gain in imports subtracts from overall economic growth."

so it was 1.4% now it may be 2.4 (they arent shure) but 1.4 of the 2.4 is from the war spending (they are shure) so if its right and we dont have a perminent war it (the gdp this quarter) declined .4.

keep gloating fools. you add as well as shrub.

Iraq war is a continuation of the Gulf War, it is just the second inning.

The cease fire agreement that stopped the shooting in the Gulf War had provisions put on the behavior of Iraq's government that were violated.  some of these provisions had to do with full cooperation with WMD inspectors. Note that it was a cease fire, not a treaty.

The violations were dealt with with 12 years of sanctions, no fly zones, cruise missle attacks, and finally invasion.

Illegal just because the UN didn't sanction?

Then the only legal war has been the defense of South Korea.   The Korean war is still technically on, and a violation of the cease fire there could start the whole thing over again.

Illegal is not a critisizm that holds weight.

>edit: Sorry to post that in an economy thread.

nor is the argument that the sanction from the un was present. as they (the un)had specificly said it was not.

thus the argument does hold weight. not that it has anything to do with the thread

p.s. the economy is still in the dumpster conservative republicans are still liars and fools. bush is a conservative republican.

this thread is a testiment to that fact.

illeagle war my definition war not currently sanctioned by the un ( sorry if they ever said you could it dosent mean you can now)

or war with a declaration of war.

bush had neither ( but a big bunch of lies about wmd ect) really sad transparent lies you guys believe to this day. sad really

just in case you missed it

p.s. the economy is still in the dumpster conservative republicans are still liars and fools.

All I know is.....

Its 4:40pm, our crew's been going since 5:00am, and we still won't be able to meet all our production goals for the month. Way more orders than we have time to fill.
