The Hellcat spawned the most American aces.
1300 American pilots became aces, 371 served in the US Navy and 124 in the Marine Corps.
The reason for the Hellcat creating the most aces is because the USAAF used over 8 differnet fighters--the Navy only 3 over the course of WW2. 307 pilots became aces in the F6F and 275 Aces in the P51. Hellcat losses were high though, 450 aviators were lost, among them 20 aces.
