I'd wager there have been 1000+ covers of Hank's stuff. How many covers of Highway to Hell have made the top 100?

Earl Scruggs beats Hank, but he's in a different genre', and the argument wouldn't have been as funny.

30+ years ago I would have been 6 so no I haven't seen JW. My father in law grew up in Beaumont and has a lot to say about the Winters brothers. I agree about Johnny though, as evidenced by his live version of Boot Hill. Man that cat is dangerous on guitar. A lot of people say Albert King was SRV's greatest influence but if you ask me I hear a hell of a lot more of JW's lightning riffs in SRV than King's bending prowess although that is there as well. For me though Stevie just made the act of playing guitar exciting, like it was completely and totally effortless.

As for Hank Williams, I agree, his music is classic. And I got the humor of Holden's post, that is why I replied with Jr., Jr.

Slayer's Reign in Blood is AC/DC's Back in Black, but for the Greatest "Rock and Roll" topic, it must be a Beetles LP, which I have never bought.

Rock and Roll is pretty crappy, and a forced music. Like on Carnival ride loud speakers, bad car commercials, and radio stations that advertise local brake service shops.

GnR Appetite for Destruction

U2 Rattle and Hum (I like this one of theirs best, but there are several I think are some of the best albums of any band ever).
