Thanks for the map, T!  :)

I've been working on this one for a few years (always too damn busy). It's flying now!  ;) It's no combat job, but you would have trouble catching it! YS .61 RE ABC on iso-mounts and an Hatori exhaust setup, JR Galaxy 8 PCM, spring air retracts, and carbon fiber reinforcement (balsa replacement) throuhout. All up weight is 7lbs. 1/4oz. Can you say raped ape?  :D

Now I am going to have to dig my pics out!

My favorite scale plane was a Pica 190 D9. It had a Saito .80 four-stroke engine. That thing was beee-yooo-teee-ful to fly. Balanced in all areas of flight, pattern-like in moments... ahhh fond memories.

Hate to say it you Allieds, the FW190 D9, in any iteration I ever made, seemed the perfect scale plane.

Tshred-
Have you ever flown a scale Corsair? Let me warn you on a small matter- they have a glide ratio of a brick. Keep that baby close to the field, and put that nose DOWN if the engine dies. Don't try to stretch a short approach to make the field, you'll only do more damage. Better to have to glue the gear back in than to rebuild the entire wing when the thing spins in...   ;)

I got a scratch built Pony, a F4U and a Cherokee as scale ships.. a really hot Hanno Pretner designed pattern ship and a score of scratch built sailplanes..

..all electric.

If any of you guys are into electrics, check out the two kits we got.. excellent lil sp400 laser cut kits.

This is the X250.. we designed this to do pattern aerobatics off a baseball diamond as a flying field. 8-12 minutes, fully aerobatic on batteries. Hot lil ship, we pretty much killed the 'electrics are feeble' myth with this kit.

This one is my favorite; and my nightmare. About double the labor to produce, but a significantly 'diffrent' kind of kit. Only three channel, more relaxed flying style, intended as a 'first kit' for a builder/flyer that's never built a kit or flown R/C before. The instruction manual is over a 100 pages! We just released this one last month; orders have been phenominal.

The Cutie:

Guess it's time fer me to 'fess up'..

I get to do this stuff for a living.  :)

This stuff is great!!! It's 1:30PM in the morning and I just got home. We had a great time this evening! HiTech and SharkBait got there "Super Hots" up and did some great acrobatic stuff! They were doing some formation flying and winging on dual stunts. Fun to watch! We had the Zagi's up all together. Thunder flew his Trainer finally did a couple of loops and rolls (sissyboy manuvers) but did grease a few landings! Drex and NATEDOG got on the "Zagi's" and flew them like veterans! LOL I launched my Zagi's and Drex was at the controls. He had never flown an R/C before. I quickly told him what was up, down, right, left and power and lanched it!     :D I knew he would get it and he did. He took to the air like he had flown for years! He greased his landings and I think he's hooked and might get one of his own soon. "Events" and his family showed up and it was really fun meeting everyone. There were a couple of others there that HiTech was training and a factory sponsored R/C chopper pilot. That guy flew his R/C chopper upside down, right side up, auto gyro'd every landing, endless flip-flops and in general put of the best show we had ever seen! After the R/C meet we went to "The Main Event" and then on to "TGI Friydays" and pretty much solved every problem in the known universe. Pyro and Drex got on the trivia machines and went head to head and beat everyone in the bar. "Sling" from the "Fat Drunk Bastards" was there and we got along great! He is good people and in spite of flying with SOB and Fatty and the "Fat Drunk Bastards" I never held it against him!    :D  NATEDOG, SUPERFLY, HiTech, SharkBait, Pyro, Drex, Sling, Thunder finished up at TGIF's. Everyone had manly libations except for Thunder and he chose a  Girlyman drink! A Strawberry, Banana Hawiian Lava Flow Concoction that blured his vision profusly! (hic!) I managed to get home without a ticket and had to make this post!
I really enjoy seeing everyones R/C pics of there R/C's! I never realized there were so many of the community that flew them!

Salute

Thanks for the advice Kieran, but no I havne't flown a Corsair and to top it off it's a small one! I've got 2 servo's on the ailerons for flaperon, but imagine anymore than 10 or 20 degree's is really gonna make this bird sink fast.

Nice planes Wells, and everyone else!

Been thinking about trying your batteries in my P38 Hangtime, what's the AH good buddy deal these days?  :D That looks like a cool little electric pattern type ship.

Sounds like you guys had fun Thunder! No mention of any crashes, sounds like a good night of r/c'ing  :)

Here's an idea, how 'bout turning the Con into a week long event with some r/c thrown in! A little combat flying and a scale contest would be a blast! Hell, I ship all my stuff ('puter and planes) down there for a week long type event! 3 days of each would be cool.

No Crashes to report...  :) Just a good time had by all! I like your idea of getting together and doing R/C at the con. Let's kick it around and see how everyone feels. I am FOR it, should be a blast!!!

It definitely was a great time.  We must do it again sometime.

One complaint though....I thought Drex was signing autographs?  I never got one.   ;)

Whereas my plane was specifically designed for travelling I still won't bring it! I don't want to hear the jeers of "UFO" and "It's too UBER," or worse yet "Perk the damn thing!"  :D Besides, it cost more then I care to admit.

Instead, I'll build a combat stick and have at this 'Drex' or 'HT' just to see what they are really made of.  :)
