Here's a nifty thread from about two years ago. Many people here were involved in it. My how things have changed. :)

You've been lucky then Muck. When I attack bombers, it's almost always the same outcome.

If I hit the drones with somewhere between 30 and 60 .50 MG rounds and they explode.

If I shoot the tail off the leader (the one with the icon) then all 3 bombers loose their tail.

The other day, I shot down a LANC by shooting the horizontal stabs off the leader, and never even fired a shot at the other 2. Just my luck, all 3 bombers blew up within 5 seconds.

A few days before that, I blew the entire wing off a B17 drone with less than 30 rounds .50MG. I went back around and killed the remaining 2 B17s with another 100 rounds. And I knew they were not previously damaged, because I watched them takeoff.

AH bomber damage model is in dire need of another overhaul as is AH MA Strat. Until both are done, I think we will see a continuance of the current pork and auger suicide JaBo field gang bang vulch and capture mentality. There is nothing else to play for.

Indestructible fuel?  Fuel has been a primary target in nearly all combat.  Having less fuel available lets the economy rides have their day instead of the gas guzzlers or fuel volume deprived (oops, beginning to sound like an SUV bash).

Yeah, the big versatile American planes excel in fuel wars.

More than fuel outages, I hate radar being taken out since it takes longer to find the main action, but radar hosing is another priority target.

As for resupply, it always takes lots longer to rebuild anything than to destroy it.  Aces High rehab seems much more generous than real life.

No way everyone is always going to be happy with Aces High gameplay.  Too bad its methodology can never be as permanent as chess; on the other hand, its adapability, like combat itself, is a dynamic to be grateful for.
