Saitek X36 Config and Profile
« on: August 13, 2003, 11:45:25 AM »
Could someone walk me through the setup of the Saitek X36 on a WinXP system? I just gave mine to a buddy, and am going to have to walk him through it by telephone. I havent used it in years, so I am completely ignorant with respect to the Saitek Gameing Extension software. I also do not remember how to set the rocker under the throttle as the rudder.

Generaly, I figure it goes something like this:

1. Dload and install Saitek Software
2. Calibrate X36 stuff (assign axis)
3. Map stuff
4. Activate Profile
5. Calibrate in game
6. Voila?

Thanks guys, and if anyone has a good profile, I would sure appreciate it.

hehe no no - I still have my CH Gear ... but I am getting a friend into AH, and gave him the old Saitek stuff that I've kept around.

BTW, I officially removed my CO signature :(  I am going to file a lawsuit against you, H and curly for conspiring to conspire, and wrongful termination and discrimination.

Um, the damages I sustained as a result of your actions have permanently and forever rendered me unable to perform the duties associated with the position. Therefore, I will amend my original complaint to allege the above.

Did I just hijack my own thread, and ruin any possibility of seeking the requisite assistance!?

I have a X45 dat file which I guess you can use with a X36 usb setup. The new software deals with dat files for profiles where the old software used psi files. The profile is setup for rudder pedals but you'd just edit that back to the default rudder selection and then in AH choose that axis as the rudder control.

If you need a profile setup for the X36 I have one but I'd have to e-mail since I can't figure a way to attach it.

Hiyas DES,

That would be great, phuckabay@satx.rr.com

My buddy is having a problem getting his setup to work. I havent had the time to go over ther ein person to try and help out, just over the phone - but I cannot figure it out.

Basically, nothing recognizes the throttle, and when he pulls back on the stick itself, it acts as a throttle. The stick isnot responding to the appropriate axis when he tries to configure i nthe control panel.

He is running XP and dloaded the latest Saitek stuff, but whenever it goes through its own configuration process, it takes forever and never completes.

Weird ... I am thinking about just telling him to buy some new gear, as the stuff I gave might be broken.

I would have him reboot without the stick attached

then uninstall the saitek software both the driver and the programming software

then reboot and install the saitek software again, waiting until it asks for the stick to be connected before hooking it up. Ignore the XP command to reboot. Select the default choices for the Saitek stuff as it goes through. It does take a long time for it all to be installed. Ignore warnings about the drivers not being WP certified. Choose Advanced to get the profile programming software to install.

this is how the X45 stuff goes in (had to do it last night)
I assume the X36 USB stuff would be the same as it is the same file in their d/l que.
