Missing sounds?

I haven't played AH for a couple months, but the last time I did, everything worked great. I was going to fly a bit offline to see if my controllers all had their keys mapped. Everything was great, except the only sound effect I get is the engine. I was using Mitsu's 1.04 sound pack, and it had always worked, until now. So I delete my entire sound directory, and install the 1.07 sound pack. I also download the AH 'orig' files that Mitsu recommended and put those in the sounds directory as well. Still doesn't work.

Nothing has changed on my machine since the last time I played 2 months ago.

Any suggestions?

I figured it out. When I took my machine to a buddy's house for an eve of LAN games, I changed my speaker setup to headphones, then when I changed it to what it originally was I accidentally hit 'surround speakers' when in fact it should of been 'quadraphonic speakers' Guess that 5th channel was whacking things out?

also make sure you close aces high before you install the sounds, they'll end up broken if you don't
