Nah, it would have been slaughtered by the Japanese.  Worse than the Devastator.

It mainly sank merchant shipping.

Taranto was against moored Italian warships and there is of course the Bismark incident.  'Course, her AA guns were mechanically set to lead an aircraft that would be going faster than the Swordfish could.  Bismark's AA guns all had too much lead to hit the dang things.

Like the Me110, the Swordfish was forced to soldier on not so much because of its sparkling performance (which it didn't possess) but because its replacement offered only a marginal increase in speed with less maneuverability.

Remember, the Stuka remained in service throughout the war despite being proven woefully inadequate against enemy fighters, even as early as the Battle of Britain. The Swordfish could turn all day, but anything in the game would bring it down eventually- it simply couldn't run or climb away.
