I don't usualy think we need to over police our members, most of us can have a good time and engage in a little banter but still treat each other like adults, however "Deuso1" comments about airline pilots being rutabagas for letting terrorists take over the controls went way beyond what we should tolerate. we lost thousands of good people that day and I lost 350 FF brothers-I don't appreciate anyone making lite of it-Shooter

It was good to see Pyro telling him to back off, though.

hmm

why am i not surprised

edit:

the more I think about this the more it aggrevates me.

Personal story:

My older brother's best friend worked as a stock broker in the 2nd tower. When the first plane hit, everyone was evacuated in his building. As he went down the stairs, they called everyone back to their offices since the problem was in the other building. He kept going and that probably saved his life.

Sean's back here on the Cape now, working locally for a firm. He came to our house about 2 weeks after it all happened and I must say that is when the magnitude of what happened hit me. This is a guy that I remember to be the wiseass part of my brother's clique back when they were in high school. (class of 1991) He was always goofing off and the Sean I saw that day was not the one I knew before.

For anyone to be spurting their mouth off like this guy has during his first week here in AH just hurts HTC's business. Like I said before, if our arenas were populated with his type I wouldnt be here. I love the company, I love the squad and 99% of the people, but no way should anyone have to deal with his bull.

HTC, I hope he got a real good warning.

See Vulcan's thread on cruelty to sheep. Stupidity is alive and well in man. Just think, there are other idiots out there, and some of them drive our roads.

Apart from if it's offensive or not, which I'm sure it is. Saying "..comments about airline pilots being rutabagas for letting terrorists take over the controls..." is just plain stupid, ANYWAY. Because, for one thing, pilots are supposed to think of the passengers safety first and foremost and I'm sure they never suspected for one minute those terrorists were suicidal. All hijackings up to then weren't. There was no reason to think any different.
Also fighting in the cockpit did happen on one plane, and the results were predictable (the one that crashed in the field).
Also, there was no way the pilots knew they were planning on crashing the planes into the WTC or Pentagon, but I'm sure that if the pilots knew they were gonna die, I'm SURE they WOULD have put up a fight. I mean, what do you have to lose if you know you;re gonna die anyway?
That's just ridiculous what he said. God, some people need to buy a brain or what?

I have asked myself often since Sept. 11, what would I have done.

There are many individuals in a free society who believe that a course of passive activity is the best means to a positive end.
Personaly, I don't agree.
I have a great deal of sorrow and respect for those lives that were lost that day, but I also hold some contempt that only 1 of the 4 planes missed it's target.
I am extremely proud of the men and women who stood up for themselves over Penn.

On the 2nd aircraft that hit the WTC, there was a woman who was talking on a cell phone. In an interview with the relation to whom she was speaking for 3 minutes prior to the 2nd crash, it was revealed that she conveyed the knowlege of the first crash and knew that she was going to suffer the same fate.
She feared the knives and believed that they had bombs.

I think it wrong for anyone to call any of them rutabagas! PERIOD
But, lets cut the guy some slack.  We all have our own opinions and feelings.  Better to teach him respect than to shun him for having a heart.
This ability is what makes us, Americans, GREAT.

I stopped in the training arena the other night to see if I could provide some help to anyone that needed questions answered.  Deus01 was there using some extremely foul language and verbally attacking all sorts of people.  We politely asked him to watch his language and only after we threatened him to start recording his tirades did he stop cussing.  This guy has a lot of growing up to do.

This is the same guy who went off on me after he killshootered himself. According to him I was "blocking his line of fire." I'm pretty sure Deus rides the short yellow bus.

Saddle up on him, and give him about 100 "Check 6" calls ...or, call out his coordinates to other countries, we have the ability to control some behaviorial types  ;)

Yes we do, and I for one would happily do my part to make this guys online experience a near piece of hell  :)
There was a guy named B17 who used to fly in one of the AW betas years ago who was about as bad as the way this guy has been described. He used to use several different accounts and would shoot down fellow countrymen for whatever country he flew with, and he had a mouth on him that would embarrass a sailor. Well, everyone in the arena got tired of this guy and one day, wherever he went, on whichever side, he was chastised, called names and humiliated; we never heard from him again.  :)

Sounds to me like we have our version of B17 here in AH, can't be helped, its a free country and offers a free 2 week beta. But, we in the community do not have to suffer these ignoramuses, and we can all do something about em. Lemme know if you need my assistance, whenever I am online  :) Me and my entire squad, if up will join in on the hunt.

I don't know what's worse, Dueso1 or the constant text generated by people who refuse to ignore him.

The guy is an idiot, and is obviously doing this stuff to illicit reaction.  Basically, there are quite a few people being played by an idiot.

Take screen caps and send them to HTC <quietly>.  Squelch him.  Ignore him.  Get over it.  He'll disappear much faster that way.
