Am I the only one stupid enought to still fly the P47?

Frenchy has 87 kills and has been killed 58 times in the P-47-D30.

Frenchy has 17 kills and has been killed 13 times in the P-47-D25.

Not a popularity contest here (My score suck), I'm just currious to see how much you guys fly the P47, I know few of you still have it as your "main ride"  

Am I the king of the P47 dweeb? Or Am I the only silly nuttz who still flies the brick on a regular basis?

 No. Hell it takes big brassones to fly the P-47 (gratuitous self pat on the back)  I've been having quite abit of low alt level combat success. I'm finding I'm getting into a "groove" again with the P-47 after some horrible times in it.  Been hunting CHogs too  

 I'm batting .500. Been killed in a P-47 as many times as I've shot another plane down.
 
 It does suck big time to see 3 or more red icons bearing down on you, with no friendlies around     Then I wish I was in a Spit IX.

A big <S> to all you '47 drivers out there. Probably flying the worst plane in the set, adn still with a good K/D, frenchy is a great pilot

yeah, uhmm i definitely suck in it more now. seems like something bad happened between tour 7 and tour 8.

Its when the flight model of your favorite ride is lean when you find out who the real fans are. I respect a guy who'll fly an unpopular, tough plane just because he likes the plane. All the oppurtunists will move on to the less challenging stuff.

delta has 32 kills and has been killed 14 times in the P-47-D30.

tour 7:

tour 8 :

Tour 7 was a blast. And yes, something has happen to the P-47 in general. I just don't know what.

It's still the King of Jabo.    
Nothing else can spray acks like that, or carry that much ordnance!  If I'm not flying RAF and using Typhoon/Spit V for Jabo, P-47D-25 is my #1 choice.

We probably need an arena where the ground is at 20k above sea level.  Then we'd see some Jugs.

I have found that Jug is my fav jabo ride  , but as far as fighter to fighter is concerned, well, I might as well just auger (maybe some fool will follow me down & die too). This, however, is true of alot (ok all, hehe) of planes.

Hblair, true, alot of us switch around, but some like me are still just testing the waters to find the main ride that FEELS right, ya know. Wish I could fly the 38, that'd be my first choice, but I'm either a steady targ. or leaden weight dropping to the ground in it. Just not meshing with her yet here like I was in FO, but give me time

I still like it, I'll be back in it more once Med league is up.  For flattening an entire field, you can't beat that loadout. (Not bad for bomber patrol neither)

 these are the ONLY 3 things i took up in tour 9.

Nuttz has 79 kills and 55 deaths in the P-47-D30
NUTTZ has 80 kills and 53 deaths in the Niki
NUTTZ has 107 kills and 58 deaths in the panzer


Thats about it for me in tour 9.. and i rank around 200

There's nothing nutty about flying the Jug, it's one of the best all-around planes.  I've been flying the D-25 mostly, I fly the D-30 when I want to use rockets, or when I'm buff hunting and may need the dive flaps.  I figure the D-25 is a bit harder to see, so I fly it down low.  

The Jug on half a tank of fuel is a match for any non-girly plane in a 1v1.  It can outrun most of the rest.  Also, it's the best jabo and a good buff hunter.  Lots of ammo, good guns, good range, good high speed handling.  It would be the Hog-C of the arena if there wasn't already a Hog-C.
