I like it, but I wish it was easier to configure joysticks for it and that I could figure out how to get it out of the 60hz refresh rate on Windows XP Pro.

Its fun to doodle around mindlessly against an AI now and then.  Less stressfull than AH, but also less rewarding when you succeed.

Oh yeah, it doesn't have a Mosquito Mk VI.  That is its biggest failing.

it's a great game.

you need lots of ram (512mb minimum for xp, a gig is better)  you won't be able to run at full graphics without a top of the line vid-card, but even the mid range graphics I get on my 7200 radeon are breathtaking.

the multi-player is kind of a pain unless you have it pre-aranged with a group before hand.

the attention to detail is amazing and you will find more small things almost every time you fly.

It's unplayable with 512Mb. It can take 1-2 second pauses in the middle of a turnfight (loading textures..)

I played it a dozen times after I got it, it's not good enough to validate another 512mb of ram (insert WW2OL joke here.)

And finally, it's made by russians so the historical aspect is how should I say, 'jilted' a little bit.

Runs fine here:

AMD XP 2000+ (~1.6Ghz)
GeForce 4 Ti4200 64MB (45.23 drivers)
768MB PC133 SDRAM
Win98

If you have a GeForce card, you need to disable Texture Precache and enable Texture Directload via Rivatuner. This only matters on the Finland map though.

As far as the jilted Russian POV... tards come in all shapes and sizes, German planes perform very well. If you can't beat down a human controlled Russian plane, I'd venture a guess its because you have no idea what you are doing.

Its a good game, FM and DM are real nice. Sound is a little buggy right now, but there is a patch on the way to fix it up.

It all depends on what you expect from it Ike. AH online playability? Only one server I've found that offers that, but its more like the CT and probably has just as many players in it (max 29). A new front, several new types of planes very few games have modelled...

I'd recommend it, the only boxed air combat games I haven't bought are jets or the CFS series.

Aww shucks. He deleted it or had it deleted for him. It was quite funny in a 'One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest' sort of way.

Karnak

try this if you haven't:

for ex say you want to play FB at 1600x1200@85htz res

make sure fb res set to 1600x1200 can do this in game. then exit to desktop

1:set destop res to 1600x1200@85htz
2:then start  fb again
and hopefullt fb will be running at 85htz

this works for me, if I dont set my desktop res first It defaults to 60htz

eukk! headache city :)

asus a7n delux mobo
512mb pc3200 400mhz
asus XP 2400+
Hercules radeon 9700pro 128mb vid card

get around 60fps in dx
get 25-50 opengl with perfect settings
