I think the gist of the last thread is you should use whatever is to your advantage in a situation. I can think of lots of situations where HO is the smart thing to do to accomplish the goal I have in mind- usually to deprive the other guy from accomplishing what he wants to do.
I'll take 4xcannons HO against MG's anytime it presents itself, particularly 4xHispanos.
I've had guys chastize me for doing it, when 3 or 4 kills back they had done almost precisely the same thing. Funny, huh? Bottom line- play the way you want and enjoy, and ignore the comments.
Example- I was having a really tough day once. I was vultched repeatedly by one of the "gods" of the sim- no complaints, I didn't have to do it- this went on for probably half an hour. I finally get off the ground, make a line for the guy (who doesn't want payback?

) and immediately get sandwiched by a high 51 on 4 O'clock and another on my 8 O'clock, both making their runs. The "god" was in a Spitfire directly ahead of me and coming straight at me. Now, no matter which way I go I am going to get it, that much is obvious. Turning in any direction guarantees the "god" will get me yet again- so I don't turn. I plowed right at him and get the shot first. I then evaded the two mustangs (somehow)
"god": Nice HO

I thought about that (actually, it disappointed me to see that coming from this person). He had no trouble killing me when it was easy for him, but let me get one kill on him... I guess what I am saying is it takes no more skill to vultch than it does to HO, yet we openly condone the vultch, even seek it.
Just relax and play. It's all good.
