A Day to Remember in AWMac's Life...
« on: August 21, 2003, 10:19:55 AM »
I'm a proud Father. My 5 year old Son's 1st day in Kindergarten.  Like some Fathers I had the camera ready. pic's of him leaving home, drove him to daycare, rushed to the school early to get pics of him getting off the school bus.  It was great!!!

I remember my 1st day in Kindergarten, Dad drove me to school in the 'ol station wagon cuz the Rambler wouldnt start.  Talked to me the whole way there it calmed me down a bit too.  Memories.

Also remember my Dad takin me to school and at the last minute asked if I really wanted to go to school or go fishin with him... Fishin ruled!!!

So after my Son get's out of school, back to daycare for lunch and a nap... we're going to McDonalds for a Happy Meal and then to Putt Putt.

Would love to trade places with my Son....

:)

AWMac..lol great story.

My first day of school was hell for my poor mother.  everytime she tried to drop me off I would cry like crazy, so twice she took me home.  When I got there I was bored so I'd cry about that.  The third time at the school the crying didn't work and she drove off.

;)

My older son has been going to a Montessori school, which he started when he was 3.  It was tough at first but now he loves it...I mean really..what isn't there to love...they just play all day.  :)  But it been very good for him...they do teach very basic math and english.

My wife had to deal with the tears.  It was a bit of a "cats in the cradle" thing for me on day 1 though.  I had a meeting at 8.30am and I missed his first day drop off.  :(
Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain

MAC! Great moment in fatherhood!

Hey, *I* remember my first day of kindergarten!  Back then it was about milk and cookies, naps, and memorizing our phone numbers and addresses...today its simple math and reading with homework!

I remember alot of my childhood before the age of 8, but I can't remember what I did two weeks ago :p

Its amazing how we parents live through our kids. It was almost like your first day of school. I remember taking my son to his first day. He was terrified. I walked him to the play ground and he would not leave me. I didnt even want to leave him there cus I was terrified for him after seeing the look on his face.

Well now the day is over... talk about a GREAT Day?  We had a great time... I picked him up, then McDonnies Happy Meal...He played a bit with other kids in the tunnel things... *shivers* I don't do tunnels anymore.

Then I asked him if we were gonna go Putt-Putt or feed the Ducks...Putt-Putt it was...

Here in Tulsa it was 98 degrees and a heat temp index of 104...heh weather never keeps the die hard Putt-Putters away.  Chit, 18 holes and we were toast! Both of us cheated just to end the agony LOL.

We made it home and it was cold shower time...he was sooo torked and me being an old man like me could not get enuff ice water in me..I was laid out for 3 hours.. LOL ohhhh to be young again.

Would love to have traded places with Jake.
