Get a Tivo. I haven't sat through more then 10 seconds of commercials at a time for the last few years. I use a ReplayTV which lets me totally skip the commercials 30 seconds at a time, but if you can't get that (or want something from a more stable company), the Tivo is still a lot better then nothing at all (it fast forwards).

Get one of these PVRs, it will change how you watch TV.

The Dell interns bug the crap out of me.. but there were a few commercials, not long ago, that I hated so much I would turn the channel when they came on (and I'm not a channel surfer... I pick and stick).

Dish also has its own PVR. Going through this thread, I have never heard of any of these. PVR is the only way to watch television. Watch a one hour show in 45 minutes.
PVR's give you more free time than you can shake a stick at, and you never miss another sports play as long as you have it.

Why be aggravated by commercials? Better yet, why let some idiot marketing fool steal time away from your life?

IMO almost all commercials on TV are a pain in the arse. Only a very few that are funny (especially without sound since the mute button is my favorite on the remote) are not a pain.

Anyone from Las vegas I think would agree that the "chopper" is the worst commercial ever. It's a not-quite black guy in Gazelles who drizzops gangsta lingo as he sells cars. It's absurd, it lasts forever.

"How much would you pizzo for this Isuzu?"
"15,5?"
*crowd* "lower, chop it chopper!"
"13?"
*crowd* "NO Chopper, chop it!"
"Okay, 10599, now get out of here" and proceeds to kick the car out of the way as the "lucky" new owner smiles and speeds off...

The fact that you remember them makes them good commercials. In fact any Ad exec reading this would probably jump at the chance to duplicate the "winners".

Mr. Whipple was the most obnoxious commercial ever! "Please don't squeeze the Charmin!" and one of the most successful!
