Scooters and bikes are cool... until there's gravel or oil in a corner.  Then I apply a little opposite lock and the center diff kicks in and I exit cleanly.  And the scooter/bike fool is picking rocks out of his forehead.  :)

LOL, so how fast was that scooter really going?
30-40mph? ;)

I was out bar hopping with my brother one Saturday when we walked into a local sports bar somewhat early in the afternoon.  There were 3 of those scooters sitting outside.  We got pretty lit and found that we were at the pool table next to their owners... all ex harley guys in their mid 40s.  They had created a Portland company that made the scooters.  They said they'd taken them down to Utah and did 80mph with one on the flats in an attempt to break the land speed record for that class of vehicle.

They showed off their scooters in the parking lot, and they were all capable of 40 mph at least... and getting there almost instantly.  They didn't have the high speed one with them.  They looked squirrelly and there's no way in hell I'd ride one.  And... it would be just a matter of time before the city passed noise ordinances banning them.  They're like 50 leaf blowers all running full throttle at once.

I totally agree.

I 'spose girlies who don't want a propar bike but want to go slightly faster then 30mph on the freeway.......plus the bigger scooters are 4 strokes rather than 2 (and you know how girlies are when it comes to filling the oil - 2 stroke go bang!  Although someone did tell me 2 stroke engines are banned in the US), generally have starter motors, fuel gauges and other civilised things that poxy little 50's don't have.

I'll take an R6 though, sod comfort.

Why do you like the 600's?  Just curious, a hooligan like you I would think to see on a liter size monster (GSXR-1000, R1, 954 RR)
