PROBLEM RESOLVED. Thanks for all the help guys. This is what I did to fix the problem.

The only thing that changed on my system was the video card. replaced a Gforce 3 TI 200 with a Gforce 5200. I kept thinking that the internet was the problem with the worm virus going around. Finaly I started messing with the card (turning switches on and off and trying to log into game). I went to dxdiag to try the vidio test to see how well this card does. Well the cube was turning slow in 3d then I remembered I needed to turn off v sync in the old card to get it to run faster. I installed rivatuner, turned off v sync decided to try AH again BOOM logs on normaly works just like it usto.

I have no Idea why this would fix the logon problem? I figured I'd share this just in case it happens to someone else. Thanks again for all the help.

I had a problem like that.  Couldn't go to hanger or on runway.  Could go to ships and that was about it.  Nothing updated and roster was a waste of time.

Fix was to set polling on in my joystick setup?!?!?!?!?!

After that can log on and everything worked.

However :( noticed I need new pots in stick :(

It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

I had similar probs to yours and Wrag's a couple of times. (After new card, and Sys crash/Re-install everything).

Both times the fix involved the vid card.

1) Check your DirectX Diagnostic TEXT file, Look for more than one video card.  You may be still showing the old card, if so, boot up in safe mode, open system properties, and get rid of all cards listed 'cept the new one.

2) In your: ~\Aces High\Settings\  folder , and delete the "video7.cfg" file.  (Back it up foist!).  When u start the game, it'll run u thru the setup again. (SHOULD anyway)

Hope this helps
S!

Most odd problems with DirectX will be related to multiple inactive drivers being loaded.  These get initialized and can leave the system in an unstable state.

They only show up in the text file of the DXDIAG output near the end.  Getting rid of those will normally restore a systems stability back.
