What do ya say, HTC?  Give it a try, please?

Another example of someone wanting HT to code out something they can't handle.

There is a reason for the saying that it takes two to HO.

As per HO in AH..  It is a real skill to pull one off w/o getn killed..  Split second timing & cross control balancing act.

Some of the "skill-less" just use it exclusively 'cause it's all they can do. (boy, people get madder at this than chute shooting!)

However, like someone said herein.. If an opponent does NOT want to go HO'ing, he can avoid it, and kill you with little adieu, given you fall for the trap.. (long story short).

ie:  (no comment is complete w/o a "What happened to me last night" story,, uuugh)

I've got 10 mins left before leaving the house.. and am at 15k,, looking for anything red.

Ah-HA!  Dead ahead!  A co-alt 109 coming right at me!  Let's setup a "death-stream" x-control HO.

Were both in each others sites, dead-center, closure rate ticking down FAST!..

At d1700, I squeeze the trigger, sending a long stream of 20mm/50cal at him (tracers OFF).  Getting ready of down-jink at d600..

The guy (knew what he was doing).. curls down in a negative G push,,

I correct and continue the stream ahead of his flight path, but the SOB, rudder skids the friggin thing zig-zagging, under me..  NO WAY TO TRACK THE SOB.  And I'd wasted 1/2 my ammo load, as well as 1/2 my E!..

He does a nice little zoom climb up behind me.. and eventually BnZ's the living toejam out of me.  I'm a fair-to-good player, but there was no way in hell that I could've HO'd that guy, no matter WHAT I DID!

He avoided a perfectly setup HO, and chiseled me to pieces.. voila~

Best to stick with the "payed for" HO's..

;-(

This is rather pointless.  We are not going to alter the sim for this condition.

If you do not like HO's, then learn to avoid them.  We have trainers and many other players that are more than willing to help in this area.  Don't come back and tell me you cannot avoid them.  The only reason you may not avoid it would occur if you did not see it coming.  Then you just need to sharpen your SA a bit.  Trainers can help with that as well.

If you do not like player's using HO's and wish they would stop, then offer them an alternative, such as a better way to fly.
Out fly them, shoot them down, and offer to teach them the way to handle ACM.  Tell them there are trainers that will help.

Much better than just belly-aching about it.  Asking us for a solution to a perceived problem that you have absolute control over is rather silly.

Skuzzy, maybe HTC could let us do something about N1K HO Dweebs in our squad?  I swear... all SOB does is HO every plane he sees.  It could be a 5:1 gang-bang vulch session and SOB would still dive in and HO the plane taxiing down the runway.  I have a film of him actually trying to HO a CV several times.  This type of behavior must be stopped immediately.  I don't know if it has to be anything as drastic as the AW shield... maybe you could just disable killshooter for squadies shooting at SOB.

I'm left wondering if you're rolling your eyes because you didn't believe him.

There's some good advice here, maybe instead of having someone else fix your problems, you might want to expend a little effort and fix it yourself.

OK, I was just going to let this issue go, but since Mini-D brought it up....Why the HECK are the CVs so darned tough?!?  I haven't won one single solitary HO with them.  NOT ONE!!!  I swear, I don't think I ever even damaged them.  I'm suspect the CV might have been cheating, but if not, then this is a SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH ACES HIGH AND SOMEONE SHOULD FIX THIS NOW NOW NOW!!!!!!

You have one week to take care of this, Skuzzy.  After that, I'm out of here!

I say AH keep things as they are. I think HOing as an initiall tactic is lame, but something I can live with. Getting out of the way is not much of a problem, even for a dweeb like me. I agree with those of you who view the chronic HOers as easy pickin's. Bring 'em on, I say.:D

I think you have to hit the Carrier's spawn point to destroy it. If you miss the spawn point but hit the body of the carrier, its not destroyed.

I really hate not having HO's.   AW had this system and it sucked.

The dweeb-berry just goes nuts when all you have to do is fly right at your advisary and you are invincible.

Jeezus, I'm rolling my eyes because 1) this thread started out as a set-up to troll for trout or red snapper, but it turned out...well, quite different.  And, 2) Ack-ack's post seemed like it might be a nibble...  :D

The old forums of AW-lore this AH-BB is not, for sure.

No fun.  But, anyway...
