Heyas

I loved the first Hidden and Dangerous even through its bugs...

Anyways, they are taking applicants to beta test #2 online

I scooped this from SimHQ (http://www.simhq.com)

H&D was the 2nd most bug filled piece of crap I ever installed on a PC, coming close behind Rowan's BoB.  I hope they learned their lesson, because I sure learned mine.

I guess they didn't learn.  From the PCZone review:

"This sequel has been in the works for years, so it's a real shame that it's been released in a less than fully polished state: guns and characters floating, soldiers getting stuck in the scenery, suddenly not being able to shoot and even a crash or two. Illusion is already hard at work on a patch (which may already be out by the time you read this), but it's surely the publisher who's to blame. Why not wait till Christmas to release it, unless it's because Half-Life 2 had been delayed and they spotted a hole in the market? Who knows?

Still, as I said, the bugs are nowhere near as terminal as those in the first H&D, and the game is so hugely enjoyable that we want to forgive it and hope the patch fixes all."

i have it, and havent had 1 prob with it.  Is it just the N America release with probs? i love the game.
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

I don't find any badly concerning bugs from the game, it plays good and has a patch already.
It has only crashed on one occasion - something went bad with a save game and it caused the game to crash always when loaded, so I just restarted the mission which was at the begining stage anyway.

If I recall correctly, PCZone gave quite poor scores for H&D2 and mean while excellent for CoD..
(well, thats what most reviewers for some bizarre reason are doing)
The best joke so far is how some reviewers are praising CoD AI as excellent, whilst the truth is: CoD AI is *very* *very* simply coded (should I say pre-scripted...)
Anyway, I don't wonder if CoD has less bugs than H&D2 - theres hundred times less things to have bugs with.

I would recommend H&D2, if any interest in 'more' realistic WWII action.
It isn't exactly realistic, but far closer than BF1942, CoD, MOHAA ... etc.
Of course it isn't either straight forward shoot 'em up, but more thinking is needed than rush & blaze away.
